Thank you Olychick! I really love the one with the gray underskirt, I would definitely buy that one if it were reasonable. I've been looking at Penney's, Overstock and Amazon, and the only thing I liked were two at Overstock that have a pale green background, one with flowers in terracotta, but only sprinkled here and there. The flowers would at least tie it in with my solid colored terracotta drapes. My area carpet just arrived a little while ago so my mind is going in different directions. I so appreciate everyone's input here and it has definitely helped me to understand what is needed.

The first thing I notice is the almost total lack of color in your bedroom. It also lacks curtains, and there is very little softness, and a lot of dark and angular furniture. In the inspiration room that Beverly shows there is a definite and very cohesive color scheme, and much more softness to the bedding, and some strong and definite pattern. You might consider buying an area rug you love and taking color and pattern inspirations from that. The art in your room is too small and timid, and I would look for much larger and more colorful art to bring life to this room. A large easy chair in front of the window in a beautiful color and some decorative pillows could also become part of your color scheme. A very spare and modern aesthetic may not give you the warm and cozy vibe you say you're looking for. It might be better to wait until you've bought the furniture you want before asking for advice since I gather everything in the room will be different. The orientation of the bed looks good to me in relation to everything else, including where the door is.

Anyway, since you have dark furniture and it will probably be almost impossible to match it exactly, I suggest going a little lighter. Mirrored nightstands are a good idea. For the mirror, I suggest one with a platinum, silver, or gold frame that would work with your decor, depending on which color you prefer. Yes, I think pink is a beautiful color for a master bedroom! The trick is picking the right pink and then balancing it with other elements that are not overly feminine. I love pink and brown together, or black. When choosing a grownup ink go to the brown section in your color deck. As you move up to the lighter colors you will see what I refer to as dirty pinks. These are softer, more pleasing pinks that men can love.
