Help Me decide on Paint Color for Master Bedroom/Bath
Comments (10)To answer your direct questions: Put the darker color behind the bed headboard and then decide if you want one accent wall (usually a lot of contrast) or if you want to have two walls each color. The Santorini Blue is not baby blue, but I would put a color swatch in your room to see how it looks in different light if you decide to go in that direction. Glass Slipper is more ice blue than baby blue. I LOVE the Santorini blue, but thought it was too dark to have on all four walls. Your bedding is very neutral and very pretty. When I look at it I think "irredesence" or opal. Everyone does this differently, but I tend to decide what I want a room to FEEL like and then go from there. For our bedroom I thought "sleeping in the clouds". Hence, I have blues, whites, creams and beige. For our bathroom I wanted "beach spa". I also suggest you look through the bathroom pictures on the bathroom forum. I found several inspirational rooms that worked with the tile and cabinets we had. I think one of the reasons you are struggling is that you are working with "what matches" instead of what look do I love. Love something, make it work in your room. Having said that, I think your tile would work well with blues, tans or many of the greiges. Whatever you decide, you are likely going to need an accent color since your bedding has wonderful texture, but only one color. Again, look at the bathroom forums pictures and here in gallary under "bathrooms". Which rooms catch your breadth or you say to yourself, "I want that feeling". Good luck!...See MoreMaster bedroom is pink... Very pink
Comments (138)Two things I learned after living with the pepto bismol and "aquarium" bedrooms in my old house. Check under the carpet, you may have a great wood floor under there. You can paint a wood floor, grey is a great color to paint it, easy fix. My advice to you is RIP OUT THE CARPET NOW, while it is easy and you still can! I "worked around" a teal carpet in my master bedroom, and regretted it every single day. Carpet in one room isn't going to set you back that much. You deserve to have a master bedroom you love and that speaks to you, not an accommodation to someone else. Oh, and blue highlights pink, so you need lots of brown and yellow and tan and red to tone down the pink. Think of that carpet as very, very light red if you keep it. But don't keep it. Rip out the carpet. Just do it!...See Morehelp! i have a pink master bedroom
Comments (52)It's fine to leave the paint for now. I just would not choose future items necessarily based on that color. The color could work......it is just a lot of that one color. What was the reason you chose this color to begin with? What color were you looking to choose? What other colors do you have in your home? Rooms should not all be the same in a home, but there should be a flow and consistency from one room to the other. Here is a possible color scheme for you, using the desert as your backdrop....See MoreGrey walls in the master bedroom. Which floor colour to go with?
Comments (8)I would absolutely NOT use that dark gray floor. And you are doing things backward--select all your hard/permanent finishes and colors first, the wall paint color last. For the most timeless look, a medium brown wood, REAL wood, will go with anything, and will never be out of style. Gray floors have already had their moment. And laminate is an awful choice for a floor....See Moreemmarene9
