Will I regret not having a fireplace in my master bedroom?
Comments (12)Klabio put it very well, lol. You'll never miss the fireplace if you skip it, and you'll never use it if you put it in, even if you think you will. Your bedroom doesn't need to be chilly in the morning. Better to invest in a programmable thermostat. In the heating months, set it to turn the thermostat down at bedtime, then set it to turn the furnace back up a few degrees maybe 30 minutes before when you get up in the morning. You'll wake up to a warm bedroom and a warm house, even if you like it a bit cooler at bedtime. You save money too....See MoreIs there a grownup way to add pink to a master bedroom?
Comments (16)I've added pink to our bedroom but it's subtle enough not to be girly. The first thing I'd do is find a lightweight quilt with pink in it to fold at the end of the bed and work from there. It's amazing what one folded blanket with color can do for a whole room when it's on the end of a bed to match accessories with. Any pink can be sophisticated depending on how much you use of certain shades. The good thing is all shades of pink goes well together so you don't have to be limited on one shade. You could go a bit funky like me and get a pink Princess telephone for your side of the bed. I also have a deep pink Moon Clock. :)...See Moreis pink color OK for the master bedroom pink color for master bedroom
Comments (25)Yes, I think pink is a beautiful color for a master bedroom! The trick is picking the right pink and then balancing it with other elements that are not overly feminine. I love pink and brown together, or black. When choosing a grownup ink go to the brown section in your color deck. As you move up to the lighter colors you will see what I refer to as dirty pinks. These are softer, more pleasing pinks that men can love....See MoreI need help selecting a window treatment for our master bedroom
Comments (31)Olivia- answering your question-I guess what you had originally is what I like. Navy curtains straight down. Skip the valance, would be great if you got rid of those wood blinds, but I understand if its a no go zone. Can I suggest room darkening curtains, they work well with blocking sunlight in the mornings. I did this in my room, just to avoid the whole blind thing and when I open the curtains the full window is exposed and lets in all the light. Agree with doods- longer rod, fuller curtains ( wider in size ). I have had 2 curtain panels stitched together to make a wider curtain before.. Not too high curtain rod setting either. Maybe a little puddling on floor to give it that romantic feel. Navy curtains I like, nice contrast against the lighter wall. Is that gold ( yellow ) in that artwork? ..so maybe add some gold accent in the room, either in throw blanket or throw pillow. Good luck!...See Moregoldtooth
