Cute Cottege houses in Savannah GA
Comments (17)Really beautiful! I didn't expect to see a hydrangea in bloom, though. I could be wrong, but I thought they bloomed after the azaleas. Is it me, or is this an early-blooming variety? Springtime is indeed a beautiful time to visit all those southern cities. Actually, it's the only time. After that it's hotter and wetter than your armpit. Springtime is, however, inspiring! Truly a lovely sight to see all the azaleas adding endless color everywhere! I'm glad there a rhododendrons for our colder climate up here as it gives me a taste of azalea time in the south. Those pictures were wonderful. Thanks so much for sharing!...See MoreWierd (but cute) habits
Comments (17)MY husband has telephone solicitors call back to speak to me! Within an hour after we got back from our honeymoon, I had a guy call me about cemetery plots. We went to a home & garden show last weekend & he signed ME up at every booth. I told our DD that I'd be getting phone calls for the next month, as the people went through the names & called people. DD said "oh no, why did you do that Daddy?" He smiled his elfish grin! Actually, it was good to see the mischief. He's been under horrible stress at work for the past several months & I miss his harrassment....See MoreCan our house be cute? (pic)
Comments (38)You all are so wonderful! Below are answers to specific questions some of you raised..... staceyneil-Love the brackets! Never ever would have thought of that. That could be perfect! Also, you asked about location....we're in NJ so we'd want a Nantucket look, I think. debelli -You asked about the age of our house and also about what other homes in the neighborhood look like. Our house was built in the 50's and had some renovation done in the early 70's. As for the neighborhood, it's a mix of older homes (mostly Capes and Colonials) that in recent years have been replaced brand new, much much larger homes. The "building" on the left you ask about is one of the new homes. Its three floors dwarfs our little place. arcy-our budget right now is pretty low as home improvement budgets go...a few thousand dollars at most right now and that has to include replacing the entry door (which is badly warped). We are hoping, though, if we finalize our vision of what we want the whole thing to ultimately look like we can work toward it in various stages. A lot of you have asked about the gravel driveway (actually it's river rock...a little nicer looking as rocks go). We do need to keep it to park the cars, so other than possibly pulling it back off of the house a bit, we're going to have to work with it for now. Thanks again to everyone for all of the fantastic feedback!!...See MoreHelp with exterior color ideas for cute Spanish house with PVC windows
