I need advice about side tables for my big over stuffed chairs.

I need advice about side tables for my big over stuffed chairs. The chairs are identical and both rock and swivel as well as recline.

Both are brown as is my couch.

We need a place to set TV controllers, drinks, snacks, etc.

I suggest a three leg table such as this. add a lamp as well, you need some mid level lighting in that area

Doesn't the coffee table block the recline feature? A table between will interfere with the swivel feature. Which is more important to you? Any way to get that piano off the exterior wall? It is bad for their health unless there are no drafts and you've got super insulation.

Sitali, I'm not really sure, because I haven't done this successfully yet. The winter of 2010 I had 2 BST chrysalises that I kept in an aquarium tank in the garage, and apparently I spritzed them with water too much, and they didn't have enough airflow, so the chrysalises rotted. This winter I kept them outside in a mesh container on the back side of the house. A couple weeks ago, I saw the first Eastern Tiger Swallowtail flying about, as well I sighted a black-colored swallowtail one day (not sure what species). Figured that was a sign that Swallowtail flight time has started, so I moved the chrysalises out of the mesh container and into the aquarium tank and put that on the deck (shaded). Thanks for all your advice. I'm so glad that I didn't just rush in and start this. From the sounds of it, I WOULD HAVE ruined them . . . :^0 . . . OMGosh! I need to run all this by DH. He's been encouraging me to call up and order a set I like that I saw in Phoenix Home & Garden magazine spread. I can't imagine ordering anything that big and expensive sight unseen, though. Hmmmmmm, there may be a weekend trip to Scottsdale in the offing ;^) In the mean time, I need to decide whether I want to paint the set a brown first and them give the Gel Stain a go or just leave it as is until I get a new set. BTW, I haven't looked into having it professionally stripped and redone. I probably should. I can't imagine a red or blue table in our dining room, though. I'll have to think about that one.

I criss-cross fishing line over the chook pen, though it is 7ft high, the crows don't see it and try to fly in and hit the line. It doesn't seem to hurt them just gives them a rough landing so they go somewhere else. Works for chicken hawks as well. My father used to do this too. He also used to put rat traps on the roof, not set, but the crows didn't know that. Another thing he stumbled on was when he sprinkled some powdered lime around the pen (apparently deters lice) the crows didn't come anywhere near the place.

It seems like another trip to IKEA to purchase the Vittsjo (don't you just love all the names there?) will be coming up soon! Good point, joanie, about the rectangles already in the room and the potential for more rectangles with frames on the wall. She is happy with the way it's coming along. After she added the rug and the pillows, she said it feels homier. She is anxious to finish off the basics with the coffee table, a different lamp for the end table and something on the wall above the sofa so she can start planning a holiday open house! I think she'd eventually like to replace the rocking chair with an upholstered chair, but in the meantime, it's extra seating.

We have just enough room for the recline/swivel feature. We could back the chairs up a bit but I wanted a pathway behind the chairs to go out side.

In my living room picture You are looking at one of the only interior walls in my home. It is all windows and glass doors. Poor piano.

The coffee table is probably too big. Also when the chairs are reclined you can't reach the table.

II thought maybe a low small round table between the chairs?

I recently bought this small hexagonal table. It has a rustic industrial look and just enough room for a cuppa or two. I got it off Etsy (The Woodsman). I also bought a couple of side tables from Wayfair and really pleased with them.
