xmas travel plans changed
Comments (1)if you are looking for a place where you can see the beautiful gardens then you should visit Spain once. because last time i was went there for golf holidays. but when i saw the beautiful gardens there then i became mesmerized there were so many beautiful gardens also where you can enjoy the flowers and so many things. but this place is specially known for golf holidays. golf holidays in Costa Del Sol has also its own charm. there are so many golf courses and green parks. and also the rates of hotels are at very low coasts....See MoreTravel plans averted yet?
Comments (47)We're pretty bummed out. DH and I and our DD and DSIL haven't been on a vacation in 10 years, since their wedding overseas. During those years, they gave us 3 sweet grandchildren. They've always said they'd have many years to travel as a couple, but wanted to plan a dream vacation, which DH and I could share with them, to spend time with our young grandchildren, while we're both still healthy. We all needed the long gap of no vacations, to save up money for this dream trip, and DD also wanted to know they'd only have one child still in diapers, lol. We were thrilled to finally book our trip to Florida, staying in a Disney World resort, within the Disney park, long before this virus reared its ugly head. The particular timing was to coincide with their wedding anniversary, my 65th birthday, and our granddaughter's first birthday. Postponing it means the milestones we planned to celebrate at Disney, will likely not even be celebrated together, to avoid traveling to each other's city and risking catching/passing on the virus. As well, all alternate things one could normally do with young children, (like going to a zoo, bowling, museum, library, sporting event, etc.) during a cancelled vacation, are now shut down. Our 4 and 6 year old grandsons are beyond sad, knowing they can no longer go to Disney World, or even do anything in their city, to help fill the void. My pity party aside, (because sometimes one just needs to pout, lol) we are of course understanding WHY this is all necessary. I pray that this virus will quickly be on the downslide, now that so many places are shutting down. That should make it very easy for people to socially distance themselves, and give the virus a chance to die out. We all must make sacrifices to protect our most vulnerable during this time, and of course, cancelled plans are a small price to pay, to accomplish that....See MoreVacation/travel plans for later this year?
Comments (37)We keep thinking about this. DH keeps suggesting road trips but even that, I don't know what it will be like to stay in hotels and eating at restaurants seems less appealing. We did a big international trip a year ago, and then we did a road trip to Quebec in November. We were supposed to visit friends in Florida this winter, but we never did book the flights and then you know... We have done one outdoor dining and I was fine with that, but in general wearing a mask to go into the restaurant (rest room) doesn't bother me and I understand it and do it of course, but it's a reminder that things are off. I keep trying to think when we will feel ok about really traveling- and I just keep saying I don't know I don't know I don't know....See MoreAre you making travel plans for 2021?
Comments (0)I'm thinking about rescheduling the 2020 fall trip I cancelled. It would be plane travel in September. I think things will be better by then but I also think the jury is still out. We have no idea how many people will get vaccinated or how long vaccine immunity will last. And I have this nagging thought that no one seems to mention. If immunity only lasts a few months and the majority of people don't get vaccinated in short order then it seems the whole thing could cycle up again. If the vast majority get vaccinated within a relatively short period of time then it seems we have a better chance of knocking this thing back to a relatively "safe" level. If they don't then it seems like there could be a problem. I guess I can make all the refundable reservations again and cancel again if needed. Just wondering what others are thinking/planning for the coming year....See Morebbstx
