We had plans for visiting L.A. for ten days in April. We have some very amiable cousins there; in addition, I just plain like the city, although we don't know it very well. We were going to stay in the Embassy Suites in Glendale (where we've stayed before) and from there enjoy the museums and gardens and restaurants and our family. Now everything is on hold. So frustrating, especially when one is not getting any younger!

So far no plans for us. I had hoped things would get to a point where I would feel comfortable, perhaps fall. However, my counties infection rate has continued to climb. I was keeping track of the daily numbers but oddly the stats changed not to resemble two days ago. Two days ago our all time total (not including recovered) was 7,300. Today our all time total (not including recovered is 6, 219. Those previous days are showing differently .

Anyway, I’m staying put till the daily numbers drop much more.

The most traveling we are doing is from our primary house to our cabin, 25 miles. If we are feeling like taking a risk, we may stop at the grocery store along the way. Numbers are going up here in Hillsborough County, FL.

We might do some remote camping. It is easy to maintain distancing in the Mojave preserve. We might drive to see family 900 miles away. If we do, we will avoid restaurants and hotels.

We have no plans to travel. Maybe, maybe a short driving trip will feel ok in a few months but I don't have a crystal ball. However my son told me the other day that he, wife and our granddaughter are tentatively planning to come for a visit in Dec. - granddaughter will have just turned 3. I was shocked and much as I miss them like crazy, that concerns me. Of course it's just talk at this point.

Road tripping to NM to stay in a cabin in the woods for a couple of weeks, then another road trip to Big Bend National Park later this year. I find myself craving the solitude of the natural world in a very strong way, so I'm looking forward to both trips very much. I hope to take my mom to England next year, but we certainly are going to weigh that very carefully. I have zero desire to fly anytime soon.

I'm also still obsessed with walking the Camino de Santiago. Some day...

We ended our first ever cruise (Caribbean) on February 10 - just in time. I doubt seriously we'll ever go on another. Haven't been anywhere since. I cancelled my air reservations to visit my mother in April. We often go to France for our anniversary in October, but slim chances for that this year and we're making no plans. When it is safe to fly, I want to go see my mother.

We were scheduled to go to charleston in May, as we do most years. Rescheduled till october. We may be going to a lake resort in the next couple of months. It’s fairly remote, we would mostly be relaxing, outdoor activities, etc. at this point, the lodge dining room is not even open other than pick up, which is fine. We will see. We generally don’t travel much while schools are out. We shall see!

We wanted to go to Greece this year, but that will have to wait. I looked into going to Yosemite in July, but I'm afraid it will be too crowded - plus you have to get reservations for hiking permits in advance, and they are on a lottery system with reduced numbers being issued. I expect there will be traffic jams there, even if the number of foreign tourists is drastically reduced.

Kevin has his vacation scheduled for the week after July 4, and I think we will be spending that time in Cathedral City working on some projects. Kevin wants to get a new sofa for the living room there, and I would like to get a new desk for the office. We might just keep the old desk, even though it is not in pristine condition, as it is still completely functional. Kevin has been working in that office while in Cathedral City, but he might have to return to work at his Culver City office later in July. He's not sure how long Sony will be having people work from home, but that is the tentative plan.

Since we have been going back and forth between Los Angeles and Palm Springs the past few months, we've been getting in a lot of scenery. I had thought that I might get tired of Cathedral City, but instead I am liking it more and more. It's very relaxing there, and I am finding that I have elevated anxiety in L.A., although I expect that to pass. Since air traffic is drastically down, traffic in our part of L.A. is significantly less than usual, and that makes it less stressful, but if we leave our neighborhood, it is a different story.

We didn’t have any big trips planned before Covid—just a small getaway for a few days a few hours away, which we did not do. We also did not go see the kids/grands at Easter as planned.

We typically don’t travel in the summer with the heat and crowds. I’m really hoping we can at least go see the kids in the fall but not banking on it. I’d like a getaway in the fall too but it won’t seem fun or relaxing if we can’t eat out and are running around the whole time Clorox wipes in hand and wearing masks.

I’m supposed to be in the Canadian Rockies right now. We rescheduled for this time next year. In a way it’s a blessing that we had to cancel because I am not sure I could have gone anyway. We had huge wind storms that knocked out power for days. I had to deal with melted food and my ancient mother who could not comprehend any of this. No way I could have gotten on a plane and flown away from that mess. Crossing my fingers for next year. Nothing planned in the meantime. I’d be willing to go somewhere, preferably not in an airplane or to a crowded location, if I had someone to go with me.

I'm so glad we did our last "scheduled" big trip last summer, to Greece for one of my kid's 16th bday's. We have done everything on our original list.

We were supposed to go this month for a self-guided walking tour in France, and I was also looking at doing an outdoor opera festival in Milan, or back to Santa Fe. I hope to do one or all of these next year.

This summer we will surely spend a fair amount of time in Maine. We haven't gone yet because one kid has online courses and one works remotely, and we have so much more space and privacy to do work here. It's just a better house for Q.

We have tix to a concert at Red Rocks in Sept., and were planning to do a whole trip around it. We haven’t made any plans yet, assuming we probably won’t go.

Sadly, no official travel plans here either. My travel buddy and I had plans for a Scotland trip in May but canceled them in March. We discussed taking a fall trip but neither of us are comfortable with that.

We're going to our place in upstate PA soon (right after my hair appointment) - it will definitely be quiet until the kids join us. All 3 are still working from home and they have no idea when going back to the office will happen. My eldest and his wife and daughter have spent 6 weeks there off and on since March. Our contractor called to let us know that the house and windows have been cleaned, the deck stained and some trees removed so it's just sitting there waiting for us. It will be lovely to get out again.

Road trip to 30A area in Florida panhandle in August to celebrate a girlfriend's 60th. I feel pretty confident about it all. Unless a hurricane changes everything...

We have tickets to fly to see my parents in December for the holidays. We are still planning to go, but will assess the situation closer to the departure date to make a final go/no-go decision.

I feel very fortunate that we have a lake cabin so I have that change of scenery. I think that’s the only place we’ll be going for the rest of this year.

We were supposed to do an Alaskan cruise that would have left next week. Traditionally I take a summer trip with a few of my girl friends, that is off. DH and I also typically visit the Palm Springs area often, last visit was February. Maybe we will take a trip out later this year but no plans until we see how all this opening up goes. We have also talked about Sedona in the fall, but again we are planning on waiting to see what happens.

DH and I are going to Hilton Head in October. Neither of us wants to fly still and we also wanted to wait until hurricane season is over. Not terribly exciting but beachy. At this point in our lives we are relaxing about as much as we can stand so will probably just explore the area, it’s been years since we last visited HH.

We have several in-state car camping trips planned and are intent is to go. Have airline tickets for Late August, a wedding in the Rockies, not sure about that yet.

I retired in February with big plans on traveling with 17 year old granddaughter this summer. We planned on visiting family in Helena, MT, then on to Nashville area to visit more family and then to northwest OH to see more family. Very disappointed these plans had to be put on hold indefinitely.

My god daughter's wedding is in Nov. in the keys. I have been afraid to fly since my strokes but driving and staying in hotels and eating out now seem risky too. We were going to break the 22 hour drive into a few days stopping in areas for us to explore but not sure about that now either. I hate to miss it but I might chicken out.

localeater, several of our friends have camped, some even weeks ago (when all this first started). At first I thought they were crazy, but really, you would be pretty safe in a camper! Especially if you are able to do full hook-up, and not even have to use the public showers. We love camping, but sold our camper a few years ago. We've been thinking about buying another one, but so far, that's all we've done . . . think! LOL Enjoy!

We took a couple of short trips last year - Baja (Cabo San Lucas) in March and then Michigan and Philadelphia in June. I got to visit with a friend in New Jersey while I was in Philadelphia. I stayed with friends in Michigan while there and was very glad that I made that trip.

Then in July we closed on the house in Cathedral City, and I renovated the bathrooms, which kept me busy for a while. I'm glad we got those done when we did - that was really the only thing I wanted to change in that house, but I did also have the pool replastered.

I'm okay with not flying anywhere this year - it is kind of nice to take a break. We took major trips in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, all of which were very enjoyable. I'm fine with staying in California this year and just taking road trips, but I may just want to stay in Cathedral City and work on minor projects.

We were supposed to be in London this week and Paris next. Obviously it did not happen. Our 35th anniversary was Monday, so we rented a cabin in a nearby town and spent two nights there - we took all of our own food.

A family reunion is scheduled in DH's hometown for July 4th weekend, but other family members are not coming since they would have to fly. So, we are just going to drive up there and stay at the home we already reserved. Our oldest son will drive in from Colorado and then come stay with us for a couple of weeks.

Later in July a friend and I are driving to Colorado to stay with a friend in her second home. It is a gorgeous place. Then in August, DH and I are spending two weeks in Ruidoso, NM to escape the heat.

Btw, I have not set foot in any stores or businesses in three months. I still will not go to a restaurant any time soon. We have our groceries delivered and go to the farmer's market.

Oh, Texanjana, that is a shame you had to cancel Europe. But the rest of summer sounds delightful.

We have eaten out I think twice now. Tables 6' apart or more, masks on everyone unless they are at their own table. I'm fine with it since I don't personally thing surface transmission is a huge risk, and we do a lot of hand washing and sanitizing.

My conference in San Francisco was canceled. My sister planned to join me for a few days. She's never been there and was looking forward to wine country. I told her we will take a trip when it is safe to travel again.

We were supposed to see Rage Against the Machine at MSG in August and make a fun trip out of it, but it is postponed a year. We will keep our tickets because we had great seats and perhaps a vaccine will be available by then. I will need to rebook hotel and air. We had booked first class seats for only $350 RT.

I talked with my friend in Portland, OR that I'd like to visit in June but that will need to happen next year.

But, no, I will not be flying anywhere. Everything is closed, canceled, and I have no desire to go to any place there could be crowds, or even out to a restaurant. Going up to the mountains for a few days would be awesome, but not even sure we would consider that or make that happen. A beach house would be great, but would likely involve crowds. Seeing friends or family is even something to think twice about.

Still, plenty of people planning summer trips. Just saw that on the Today show this morning.

I’m headed out next week solo driving to Oregon for a kayak clinic. The clinic will be totally outdoors and I will be camping once there. COVID protocols will be followed throughout the clinic. The only part that I am really concerned about is that I will need to spend a night in a hotel on the way out and back, but I have been reading up on precautions and plan on taking extra linens and lots of Lysol.

A big sad no for me. I was hoping to get copious amounts of time at our lake shack but that is also doubtful due to all kinds of work uncertainty. Thanks Covid, for wrecking state budgets necessitating special legislative sessions.

If I can manage to sneak away, I'd like to spend a few days with my dd in Los Angeles.

We keep thinking about this. DH keeps suggesting road trips but even that, I don't know what it will be like to stay in hotels and eating at restaurants seems less appealing. We did a big international trip a year ago, and then we did a road trip to Quebec in November. We were supposed to visit friends in Florida this winter, but we never did book the flights and then you know...

We have done one outdoor dining and I was fine with that, but in general wearing a mask to go into the restaurant (rest room) doesn't bother me and I understand it and do it of course, but it's a reminder that things are off.

I keep trying to think when we will feel ok about really traveling- and I just keep saying I don't know I don't know I don't know.

We have decided to go ahead with our plans to head to the mountains of NC for three months. We are getting out of the heat in SW FL. We will just be very cautious once we get there. At least we can enjoy the scenery, golf and take long hikes. The cases in our county are continuing to rise, time to get out of here to a more rural town.

Nope I think it is foolish to think travel once fall hits will be safe. Summer seems to be a lull and sun shine and OUT DOORS has much to do with it..but once fall comes around and we start shuttering up this may return and I don't want to have money tied up in that. Nephew moved his wedding from June 20th to Dec. Now it appears he/we would be safer having left it as it was...we won't attend in December.

As I said earlier, we have no plans. Still, I‘m wondering how much longer I can stay a shut-in.

I still can't get used to the idea that I CAN'T go on a trip even if I wanted to.

My niece just canceled her late-August wedding. It was originally May, postponed to August. She has canceled because, according to her, the Colorado rules for opening up are just to complicated to make the wedding enjoyable. She is now deciding if they will just elope, get married, wait, have a party later, etc. We have all said do whatever makes you happy.

I’ve been reading this and feeling sorry for myself. No Job/No antibodies/No tickets.

We decided tonight that we’re going to book a trip to Paris in late May 2021 on sky miles so we can have tickets. We will just redeposit them (no fee due to airline status) if we change our minds.

I know things will feel better just having tickets. Whether they turn out to be real or not Is irrelevant.
