I accomplished the travel plans I had. I was glad it was early while risk of exposure was low. It's only going to grow now.

I'm home now with no plans at this point to travel.

One thing I read that surprised me was that, on the plane, you're better off keeping the air vent on. The air cabin is HEPA filtered so by sitting under the air, you are actually creating a 'cone' of cleaner air around you than you are without it.

Our plans to the Caribbean aren't till October... I pray this is all over with by then!

We cancelled our cruise to Italy and the Greek Islands mid May. We get all our money back if we rebook by the end of the year. Otherwise have a penalty to pay, I think.

We hit the gulf coast twice last May, so we can wait until it settles down. The only travel I have planned is driving to pick up a student at the Tennessee border and my only obstacle is the interstate may be closed on the way there. From the Smith County (Putnam) tornado. Hermitage is back up. Nashville is getting there. Mt Juliet, I'll find out today. But I wouldn't fly anywhere right now. Nope. Not worth it.

I just spoke with my DIL on Monday and the border agents were only asking if you have traveled out of North America in the past 30 days. That has probably changed for visitors.

I don't know if the US border is closed or closely supervised for Canadians who work in the states. That's about 7,000 crossing at Detroit.

As of today it's not very strict.

We are not doing any travel and had planned to go to New Orleans. I guess we are hibernating until it is warm enough to take the boats out.

Unfortunately, our oldest son is getting married in Florida Easter weekend. His bride to be won’t entertain the thought of postponing. She was brilliant enough to have her bachelorette weekend in Nashville the weekend after the tornado. I really don’t want to go,but, I don’t want to not see my son get married.

We are suppose to go to Phoenix in two weeks. We will probably cancel because I have some health problems and being on an airplane may not be good. We still are undecided but probably not going.

We will see. My college age student was supposed to go to Montreal for a conference. I see that event being cancelled. My daughter has submitted an application to go to Europe on a scholarship, but results have not been determined yet. I can see that being cancelled. Dh and I had thought about a couples trip to NYC. Full plans have not been made in any case. We haven't paid out any money.

We have a river cruise, beginning in Amsterdam, scheduled for late April. It's being run though my university, and I'm 99% sure it will be cancelled, so we're just waiting for the email to tell us so.

In the meantime we had plans to go to NYC to visit our son at the end of the month, but will postpone that. We go so often that it's not a big deal (I was just there on Tuesday).

No major travel planes involving long distances or air travel planned until July. We always spend several weekends a year at the lake cabin which is only a couple hour drive. We have no plans to stop doing that at this point. We can isolate there just as easily as at home. I want to isolate myself in my fishing boat!!

Just cancelled a business trip to Dallas for next week. Also cancelled a business/personal trip to Orlando in April. I agree it is incumbent upon us to act resposibly, be good citizens and not add to the problem.

I have no current travel plans and if I did, I would cancel them. This is NOT the time you want to be stuck on a plane for hours with umpteen strangers who may or may not be disease carriers. Pretty darn near impossible to maintain that 6' social distancing recommended on an airplane!

My husband plans to drive to Florida in a week or so. I would rather he not do it, but if he wants to, he will. He has a chronic lung disorder. I never go anywhere any more...too many animals to look after, but I am fine with that. I traveled a lot in the past, and I have a lot to do, so I like being home. However I did plan to go to Louisiana for 3 days in April to an iris convention, but pretty sure it will be canceled.

This morning a Jet Blue flight from NYC to West Palm had an infected patient on board. They locked everyone up in the plane for 3 hrs (to make sure everyone was infected???) and then they just let everybody go.

One huge failure of this administration is in developing protocols for what to do with vehicles of whatever sort full of people where one or more test positive. They should be taken to a quarantined area and contained until proven save for the sake of the entire community, but that's not happening. Instead they are let loose to become new vectors of infection in new areas of the country.

The Canada US border is still open. It would be all over my news if it was closed. But I can let you know after the noon news if you like. :)

In January, we spent two weeks in San Diego followed by a cruise to Hawaii on the Grand Princess. The cruise to Mexico that started after we returned from Hawaii is the one that has been in limbo this last week. We are feeling very fortunate it wasn't our cruise that had passengers with the virus on board and I'm feeling a great deal of sympathy for the passengers who boarded the Grand after we disembarked.

We had a great time on both trips and have no further travel plans until a weekend getaway in May which can easily be canceled if it becomes necessary. Other than that, we are going to spend August and part of September on the coast and I'm hoping that by then the virus will have run its course and life will be back to normal.

We've reservations to be out of the country at the end of March for 10 days and again in May for about 25 days. We're not changing our plans, at least yet.

It means nothing to say that someone isn't identified as having the virus. We only know who has it when they are tested for it, and...Covid-19 lives for as much as three DAYS on plastic and stainless steel. (Study announced March 11.)

Limit your exposure to what might result in a minor cold or nasty flu for you -- but that will KILL others. Flatten the Curve. Don't spread this virus.

Italy, Bermuda, Greece, and California are all canceled in our family.

I pray you make the right choice and avoid the risk of infection. IMO, it's a rational decision to miss the wedding and live to see their children (your grandchildren).

Yes, for air travel, no for driving trips. We had two trips planned for the coming few months that are now on hold.

We have until mid April to decide whether to bail on our trip to the Canadian Rockies in June. Right now I think we will probably cancel. I am so sad because I was looking forward to it. My flight has a two hour layover at O’Hare and I believe that is a Covid hotspot. This entire situation has me so bummed out.

We already did our winter vacation in January. Mid summer is a family vacation on Lake Erie. The risk is lower. We will be driving non stop and stay in a house, not a resort. Most of the activities are done outside. I have no plans on canceling.

We flew to Phoenix for a week at the end of February. It was a short 50-minute flight, and we weren't overly concerned then. I was somewhat surprised we only saw one person wearing a mask at one airport...none on the planes to and from. However, I think avoiding airports and planes is the smart thing to do right now.

DD just mailed that their planned Sunday trip to Panama has been cancelled. It had included DD, SIL, their DD and her DH plus their 3 children, and a set of older grandparents. Needless to say, I am relieved.

We cancelled our trip to the Grand Canyon and Death Valley at the end of the month. Maybe we'll get there another time.

You can always look into private jet charter services. Often they are Gulfstreams and fully sanitized. It is a more expensive option but charter services are adding extra planes and you would only be on board with your family.

cheesey35 - my sister had the same trip planned for spring break which starts next week for us. They were driving down to the Grand Canyon and then coming back up through Portland and Seattle and then back across the border. They have cancelled the trip.

Yes, my cousin and I have cancelled our trip to Italy, Lithuania and Istanbul, booked for the end of this month.

No international travel plans. Cruises never appealed to me so they have never been on the radar. However it seems like a great time for a road trip. Probably could find good room rates and restaurants won't be crowded. Just depends on where one to go and if the things you want to see will be open. But as long as natural areas like beaches, parks and trails are open I'm good. Might be a good year to camp if facilities stay open.

I'm like watchmelol -- cruise ship crowds don't appeal, natural areas do. Luckily there are tons of hiking trails around here, and the weather is turning to springtime temps so it's a great time to head to nature.

For those who enjoy long cruises, I'm guessing there will be significant discounts when the industry starts back up. How long will it take you to jump back in -- will you be an early adopter, or will you hang back to make doubly sure it's safe?

Those cruise ships are floating Petri dishes in the best of times. Now, you would have to be out of your mind to get onto one of those. If not for fear of catching the virus, for fear of being stranded on one and stuck in a windowless cabin.

Like the two above posters, I find more value in the outdoors and nature. I'd rather enjoy a small carried meal while sitting on a hillside that in some dining room on a ship, no matter how much fried shrimp they had on the table.

A cruise ship company should totally sterilize a ship, check every passenger for the virus, and then publicize it as a corona-free environment. They wouldn't even have to go anywhere. There are plenty of frightened people who would want to be "safe" staying on it.

Today is a perfect day to go hiking and not have to explain to others why I like being alone in the woods. :)

This week, DD brought her sons with her for their annual visit at spring break from the DFW area. We babysit while her in-laws join their son and her for a well planned trip to Napa wineries for 4 days. It is the son's birthday present every year and his parents way of seeing more of him these days. As her in-laws awoke to get ready to drive to the airport, they finally decided it was not a good idea. Father-in-law is in his 80s. So DD tried to cancel the flight to SFO and rebook their return yesterday morning, but she couldn't get through on the phone. Someone online said to just go to the airport to change flight plans. She did ( we are 30 minutes from SNA) and got on a plane that left within the hour for a return to DFW, and we are glad that they finally cancelled the trip.

To answer nickel's question which I have posted above, I wouldn't hesitate to get on another cruise once the virus situation is under control. I love cruising. Since we just finished a cruise, another one won't be on our radar in the near future. If it's deemed safe, we're thinking about going back to Thailand and Vietnam this winter for our next trip.

We're pretty bummed out. DH and I and our DD and DSIL haven't been on a vacation in 10 years, since their wedding overseas. During those years, they gave us 3 sweet grandchildren. They've always said they'd have many years to travel as a couple, but wanted to plan a dream vacation, which DH and I could share with them, to spend time with our young grandchildren, while we're both still healthy.

We all needed the long gap of no vacations, to save up money for this dream trip, and DD also wanted to know they'd only have one child still in diapers, lol. We were thrilled to finally book our trip to Florida, staying in a Disney World resort, within the Disney park, long before this virus reared its ugly head.

The particular timing was to coincide with their wedding anniversary, my 65th birthday, and our granddaughter's first birthday. Postponing it means the milestones we planned to celebrate at Disney, will likely not even be celebrated together, to avoid traveling to each other's city and risking catching/passing on the virus.

As well, all alternate things one could normally do with young children, (like going to a zoo, bowling, museum, library, sporting event, etc.) during a cancelled vacation, are now shut down. Our 4 and 6 year old grandsons are beyond sad, knowing they can no longer go to Disney World, or even do anything in their city, to help fill the void.

My pity party aside, (because sometimes one just needs to pout, lol) we are of course understanding WHY this is all necessary. I pray that this virus will quickly be on the downslide, now that so many places are shutting down. That should make it very easy for people to socially distance themselves, and give the virus a chance to die out. We all must make sacrifices to protect our most vulnerable during this time, and of course, cancelled plans are a small price to pay, to accomplish that.

No international trips this year, and so I won't be going back to Brazil. We will continue to drive to our house in the desert (Cathedral City), and we are going there this afternoon. Sony is now having its employees work from home when possible until further notice, and so my brother has said that we should stay a whole week in the desert. We can isolate ourselves by/in the pool. We're going there for his birthday and had planned to return on Tuesday, but now we can stay longer. Weather will be warmer there. The Coachella Festival in April has been postponed until October. The Dinah Shore Weekend in Palm Springs has also been postponed until further notice. It was originally scheduled for April 1-6. Obviously we weren't planning to go to that anyway, and we don't play golf.

Not me, but Spring Break trips for two of my families...one to Vegas and the other to California. No need to chance flying if not necessary....but I bet the planes are cleaner now than before all of this mess!

Took me ten hours instead of eight of driving.

Spring break started yesterday and the lines up at the Peace Arch Crossing at Blaine are slim and none. Usually at this time the line ups would be hours long.

There is a very strong health department suggestion that if one comes back into the country from international travel including the US that you self-quarantine for two weeks and that, of course, is a deterrent to travelling.
