How Is Your Weather This Weekend?
Comments (18)Most of the week-end was nasty--cold and overcast. I spent those sunny afternoons last week moving and stacking debris from having the barn re-sided, then we had a huge bonfire (a pile 10' x 20' x 4', and there's still more), on Friday night. Thank goodness, because Saturday afternoon we had a heavy rain, then a wind storm. Yesterday we had snowballs. I heard something hitting the windows and looked out to see tiny balls of snow--too dry to be sleet, and not hail, just little balls of snow crystals, about the size of those styrofoam balls that are used for bean bags. That lasted only a few minutes, but the cold is still here. We have sunshine this morning, but I'm ready for winter to be over, and it hasn't officially started....See MoreHow Is Your Weather?
Comments (21)Although a little colder than normal for this time of year, the ski hills are thrilled after the warm winter of last year and the resultant lousy ski season, the weather is our normal winter mixed bag. Some light dusting of snow so lots on the ski hills, some rain which translates into snow for the ski hills, some sun which translates into bluebird ski days, and some cloud which brings rain and snow. I don't ski anymore but my husband and kids do and so do American (which because of our lousy dollar are here) and European (which has no snow this year) tourists....See MoreWhere Are You and How is Your Weather?
Comments (42)I am almost snap dab in the middle of Oklahoma. The weather has been the most awesome kind for this fall. It was actually the kind of weather I would love for summer, instead of the heat that was here, when I returned here in July. Now it turned 20 degrees cooler, well, maybe only 15, but it's definitely fall here now. BURRR! and only 62 at 9 AM this Saturday, November 5. Moni who is not looking forward to the cold of winter!...See MoreHow is your weather where you are today?
Comments (69)Thanks, Josephene. And many happy returns to you!! Hope you have something fun planned. He was a pretty great cat. Easily the best of any I've had the privilege to know and live with. He thought he was more dog than cat....came when called, liked to accompany my dog and I on walks, played 'fetch' and was a superior hunter. Affectionate, attentive and adaptable - easily tolerated the 5 moves in the last 10 years. He and the dog were best friends. They groomed each other, played together and often shared a bed. The dog is pining a bit too, wandering the house looking for him. I will evetually get him a new cat companion. Thought I might plant some catmint in spring to mark his grave. He didn't really care about it (or catnip) but it seems appropriate somehow :-) And it is a space that could accommodate a robust, long flowering perennial like that....See Moremorz8 - Washington Coast
