Lighting, hardware and mirror advice for bathroom
Comments (9)Thank you. Unfortunately, the vanity will stay. I do appreciate the suggestions. The advice has been most helpful. My husband designed the vanity with our contractor. We aren't able to do drawers on the right side. This vanity sits flush to the wall. Our daughter will open the drawers on the right on the current vanity when the door is closed when she wants to hide out and we can't open the door. Nothing is shaker. I realized my photo isn't the best idea for the cabinet style. I've been to 5 different tile showrooms, brought home dozens of floor tile and my husband won't budge from his favorite choice. It's not quite as dark as in the picture. I think it will be okay. I really wanted a mosaic. This is more the style of our vanity but with 4 drawers on the left, middle section with a drawer (I was out voted on doing away with the drawer below the middle cabinet) and a single cabinet door on the right. I have measured all the items that we store. I double checked because Mayflower is right about making sure things fit. Here is our final light choice. https://www.lightingdirect.com/miseno-mlit7706-mia-2-light-bath-bar-mounts-horizontally-and-vertically/p2952597?source=smrf_Miseno_94MLIT7706CH And we decided on a polished 36x48 mirror that floats one inch off the wall. I'm hoping it will all pull together. This bathroom has been really stressful. Our kitchen was so much easier to remodel. Thanks everyone. Comments (8)I would stick with nickel for all the knobs, in both rooms. Black will look very stark with your other options, and in your bathroom, the floor gives you enough darkness. Round is better than square for knobs because over time as they need to be tightened, the square ones get crooked. I like your third lighting option, which looks more sophisticated. I would wait on the bathroom mirrors until you see the completed space. At that point, it will be more apparent whether metal or wood frames are better, and what shape/size is best....See MoreAsymmetrical bathroom vanity, need lighting/mirror(s) advice.
Comments (0)m down to the wire, in decision making, before electrician comes in to review our electrical needs in basement. I so want sconces as opposed to overhead lighting, but it may be as simple as just throwing in the towel on this one. Placement of mirror(s) and lighting over the sink (left side) and the makeup side (right side of vanity) has been extremely difficult for me due to the odd angle of the vanity and the two walls the vanity spans on are not same width. I would appreciate any advise....See MoreBathroom Mirror and lighting advice please
Comments (2)how is it overkill, the makeup area is where you want the best light, pendant light will not do that. it will create glare in the mirror for one, and also that style of light bulb will add all sorts of "color" back into your skin. I would use a back lit LED mirror here and an overhead recessed light....See Moresuezbell
