Bathroom Lighting Advice needed - how many recessed lights in 5x9?
Comments (9)Don't do a recessed light above the sink, you will get shadows. Don't do ONLY a recessed light above the sink. I also used pretty glass tile in the showers and it looks really nice when illuminated with 2 lights and dimmed just a bit. Ambiance lighting for when guests use the full bath downstairs! That sounds so nice! Two additional thoughts, not related to the above note: As you plan your lighting, consider your color scheme. If you're going with today's trendy lots-of-white, maybe-some-gray color scheme, light's going to bounce off those stark whites and could feel harsh. On the other hand, if you're using a softer, darker color scheme, those darker colors will "absorb" some of the light; so you'd need to ask whether you'd need more light fixtures. I like to read in the tub, so I definitely plan to have a light of some sort "behind me" for that purpose....See MoreMirror entire upper wall in bathroom with mirror and lighting on top?
Comments (3)Yea to your remodel! And, yes, mirrors are never out of date. The key is installation particularly transitions from mirror to adjacent surfaces. As to what height to end the tile, a good 9-11" (44"-35") above the vanity is about right in my opinion. The biggest problem with mirrors is the splashing of water from working at your sink so the 10" "backsplash" is appropriate - don't want to have to constantly clean those mirrors....See MoreAdvice for new master bathroom mirrors and lighting??

All that is needed from you is a picture of the fixture that you'd like to be made, the desired specifications and quantity and have it sent to LDSales@lusivedecor.com and a member of the Lusive team will be in touch with you to walk you through the process. Lusive Decor specializes in making fully custom light fixtures catering to the high-end luxury hotels, casinos, resorts and spa's with active & repeat clients that include MGM Grand, The Marriott, The Wynn, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and several others in the hospitality industry. Comments (8)Think of each sink on its own. I assume the sink will be centered in the 24" cabinet. So it can't be 24 inch wide, because you need space for a sconce on either side and the sconce should be a couple of inches from the mirror. So I would guess 20 to 22 inches wide maximum. So a search on the photos or products on Houzz to see if your cabinets come up. It is easier to make the right decision with some visuals. You can wait to until the cabinets are installed and the take on site measurements. I like rectangle mirrors the best for functionality....See Morelindacottonwood
