Yea to your remodel! And, yes, mirrors are never out of date. The key is installation particularly transitions from mirror to adjacent surfaces. As to what height to end the tile, a good 9-11" (44"-35") above the vanity is about right in my opinion. The biggest problem with mirrors is the splashing of water from working at your sink so the 10" "backsplash" is appropriate - don't want to have to constantly clean those mirrors.

m down to the wire, in decision making, before electrician comes in to review our electrical needs in basement. I so want sconces as opposed to overhead lighting, but it may be as simple as just throwing in the towel on this one. Placement of mirror(s) and lighting over the sink (left side) and the makeup side (right side of vanity) has been extremely difficult for me due to the odd angle of the vanity and the two walls the vanity spans on are not same width. I would appreciate any advise.

Good point! What size mirror would you recommend i.e. over the vanity only or a wider mirror over the vanity + cabinet? Framed or frameless? I was thinking a rectangular mirror. Thanks!

You can thank any one of them later The size/proportion of mirror is most important and 30 x 48 includes frame, You don't want a mile of dead drywall above the mirrors. Hung six inches above your backsplash? There are still going to be 30 " drywall above those 48 inch. If you want fewer dead Inches above? Have the mirrors custom made or buy a 30 x 60 leaner mirror. You can also boost YOUR RISER up to 8 inches unless you are very short. If you want to do that? You must tell the elctrician to move GFI up on wall....you can even turn those 45 * and cut them into the side splashes with even a six inch riser. Whatever you do? Don't do the standard 4" counter top riser. It's too short,look more elegant taller Think TALL on your sconces, as well. No less than 18 inches
