Paint too matchy matchy with rug? pics
Comments (25)Hi, thanks for the nice words! prill, the paint is "Pumice" by Restoration Hardware. I found the rug at HomeGoods, of all places! We looked all over the place for rugs and I happened to be shopping for candles and it caught my eye. gwbr, we're going to play with the placement of the dining table this weekend. It's a heavy table so moving it is a pain, but I agree with you the alignment isn't quite right. We just had the movers bring it in and plop it down and we haven't had a chance to find the right placement yet. ummm, thanks for the tips! The dining table was custom made by a LA carpenter who makes dining tables out of re-claimed wood. As for your tip about painting the "brown table", were you referring to the little red table? We don't have a brown table except for the small round table b/t the two chairs....See MoreHow matchy-matchy does my lighting need to be?(pics)
Comments (3)Sorry if this is OT, but it might be helpful. I'm not sure what kind of contract you have with your builder or if you have a lighting budget but understand from the beginning what is going to be included in the lighting category. Long story short, we had a certain allowance but didn't know that it included everything: all the pieces of the can lights, and even the lightbulbs. We ended up going over budget even though we had assurances that we had plenty of money to work with. (Apparently the builder's son also didn't know to include those pieces and conveniently "forgot" to include them in the lighting budget until the end.) As for matching, we have an open style and used the same finish (ORB) for those rooms, and even the same design style for the entry hall and diningroom chandeliers and the entry hall sconce. If I had to do it over, I would have done it less "builder special."...See Moreis your dining room - matchy/matchy???
Comments (23)I decided to get the curio/china cupboard. I stopped at Arhaus and looked for other pieces that could coordinate and thought - just get the darn piece then get another lower piece that doesn't match. So I ordered it. It really isn't as big as I thought, and they only had a few left in stock. I can always add a mismatched piece as an accent and w/my room being on the small side I didn't want too many mismatched pieces. I thought I wanted a low piece to put dramatic lamps on, then realized that my chandelier is so pretty and dramatic, that additional lamps will take away from the chandy... Thanks for everyone's help ! Next I have to look for a rug, drapes and accessories. Maybe the lady from decorating den can help me w/colors, fabrics......See Morepull together my master bedroom / bath - no matchy-matchy
