First remove the shutters thos widows should not have shutters. My next question is what is your style ? The reason I ask is that usually MCM ranch style homes do not have window boxes. I would do a green for the siding but not that shade of green that are the shutters but a nice grayed/ green , a new front door with some glass and in steel to get rid of the storm door . If you like a screen for the summer use a phantom screen . This photo shows the green I would use . Then get to work on the landscaping but I need to know a bit about your style tosuggest the landscaping .

We've recently taken quite a few giant Sagos out since they've grown too big. I want something for between the windows that will be special. Focal point for sure. It needs to be big enough - but slow growing so it doesn't grow above the roofline. I want it's foilage to fill the space between the windows. Will prob hire a landscape architect.

Ranch homes with some French details like courtyards & double door entrances and shutters were quite popular in the 70s. Here are some other examples of how they have been addressed. What your house doesn't need is a 'pop' of color. Move in and live there for a bit and then decide what the house needs. I'll bet paint on the exterior is not the first item on the list. A new landscaping plan is definitely required.

I don't think the brick is the problem and when you paint brick you create an ongoing maintenance requirement where there was none to begin with. Your brick is attractive - believe me, we see plenty of ugly brick on this forum. :-) There is actually nothing wrong with the white with it, but if you're tired of it, light gray or sage would look good with it. The shutters can go if you change the color of the siding. When you remove the shutters you might find some discoloration underneath. I think a black or red front door would look good also. If you go with sage siding a dark green door would work. You have minimal landscaping out front, so after you make whatever changes to the facade you decide to do, make an investment in landscaping. You can keep the cost down by buying plants that will grow into the right size in five years instead of being the right size now. Celery had some good ideas.
