Small Bathroom Help 6'6'' x 5'. Convert Bedroom to Bathroom?
Comments (17)You are going to want more than 32" for the toilet. 36" is standard (and perhaps even code in some areas???? Not here in Maine but I heard people saying that on other forums...) We have 34" and it feels fine but I dont think I'd want to go much tighter. You could solve that simply by flipping the closet and shower. So, have your shower -rotated 90 degrees and witha glass end wall- at the end of the tub (which is a nice setup you can see in many bathrooms, the tub deck can actually protrude under the shower glass wall and be a ledge or seat in the shower). Then the passageway moves to the left, and you can steal a bit of space from the other closet for the toilet. Either that of have a shorter vanity. 48" isn't a size I'd fight for. It's too short for a double vanity, really (unless you're using one of the new two-faucet 'trough" styles) so why not go down to 42" and have a better toilet area? For resale, though, you should consider a double vanity. Some people I guess expert truly huge ones, like at least 5+' long. But you CAN get smaller ones, Ikea has some great ones for tight spaces. But if you're not selling anytime soon, do what YOU like!! (But I still think you'll want more toilet space...)...See MoreUpstairs Game Room & Master Bedroom Decorations
Comments (6)Thanks for your words of encouragement :)! You all have me thinking now, though.....My 9' tree in my dining room stays up year round because it's in a corner that needs something massive to keep it balanced. I might have to take the decorations from this tree and use them as the decor for spring and possibly summer on that tree. I've used sprays of white wisteria in the past for that purpose....just leave out the icicles. What do you all think? Karen, so glad I could give you a good chuckle....I've laughed several times while fighting with this tree..... Alex...See MoreHelp decorate our guest bedroom! pics
Comments (22)we have not attached it yet--- we need to look at the bed frame to see if its able to attach -otherwise we will get the appropriate frame- DH does not want to attach to wall-- its pretty sturdy even though its not attached.... HTN-- i hear you about transitional-- i kind of felt like i was liking that style but yes the rest of our house is traditional-- i'm keeping the headboard- so i'll see what else i come up with... I also think the bed needs an ivory throw blanket and a nice bench (thats lighter by the foot of the bed)... to be continued...See MoreStill Decorating Our 3 Year Old Home
Comments (2461)Hi @salonva, We are back and had a wonderful time visiting dear friends. I am glad too that I flew. I may never "like" it; but like you, I do like to travel. Wayfair thankfully refunded us in full and we had Fedex come to pick up the damaged sunburst mirror. Now I am back to finding a companion for my dining room wall. I think it was meant to be that the mirror didn't work out. I am posting something simple I found on Ikea's website. I would love to hear opinions/advice regarding it. Shown here are 1 rattan mirror 21 3/4"; 3 wall plates made of sedge 15 3/4" each; a mirror 16 1/2" and another mirror 19 5/8". I like the idea of small mirrors combined. I like the natural, simple look of it and think it may compliment the artwork. I have seen other posters use baskets on their walls for decor. I would not prefer baskets although I can see the material is similar. I myself and not artistic enough to figure out how to arrange them and I don't think I would need all of them. Just thought maybe this might work and I welcome advice. :)) In the meantime, I will keep looking. @Beth I'd love to know your thoughts. @Flo Mangan @Julie Zygmontowicz...See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
