Glass tile for Bathroom Floor

I love this tile for my guest bath floors. I can't find anything even close in a material other than glass. I need advice...do it? Dont do it? If not, can anyone share something similar?

You photo didn't show up, but I can't imagine putting glass on a floor in a wet area.

Thanks so much for the all of the advice and positive feedback thus far. Here is the garden web link with a picture of sandn's beautiful master bathroom in her victorian home. http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/bath/msg011337514923.html She also has a blog where she discusses the tile she is using and does say that the glass insert is slightly raised which I am willing to deal with. Tile most of the bathroom or tile the entire bathroom?

Sumod- The medicine cabinets are simple wood frames with a cabinet-grade plywood back that just sit in the stud cavity. Because of the dimensions, the front of the frame projects about 1"+ beyond the finished wall. The medicine cabinet doors are also plywood with veneered edges and they are attached to the frame with standard cabinet hinges (Euro hinges). The mirrors are just 1/4" plate glass ordered to size from a glass shop and held in place with mirror mastic and a metal strip at the bottom that you don't really see. The guy who did the cabinets just made the medicine cabinets as part of the job. I don't know about the door brand...we live in a large metro area that has lots of door shops and the doors are just solid core maple doors with the center cut out and a maple panel held in with molding. They're not stained; they simply have a couple coats of clear spray lacquer.

Gold glass tile is not recommended for use on the floor, will scratch easily on the floor and could be slippery. It would be used as an accent tile for the floor.

a glass mosaic can be used on a shower floor, and a bathroom floor. the grout is what gives you the traction. however, some glass tiles cannot be used on floor applications. just depends what you choose. it's perfectly fine to use one tile in the shower and another on the floor. it's done all the time.

My SIL did it and she took a bad fall on her first shower. So her husband for-warned took a shower and well the result was a hip replacement and now they have to use a rubber mat every time they shower.

The tile MUST BE allowed as a flooring material. Not all wall tiles are allowed on floors unless rated to do so.

Remember: Floor tiles can go on walls, but wall tiles are NOT allowed on floors unless SPECIFICALLY STATED in the product description/specifications.

Glass is an absolute No-No for floors....especially in wet areas. The slip rating is horrible (as mentioned above) AND the chances of a shattered tile being embedded into your body when you DO FALL is very, very high.

A professional tile installer (who is well aware of these things) should walk away from a project like this. Anyone else is not worth paying.

Whatever tile you do choose, check out its anti slip rating to be sure its okay for wet areas. Plenty of tiles, not just glass, are unsuitable, and you really don't want to risk a guest having a fall because they forgot to use the bath mat.
