Monica, Yes, the sales rep at Porcelanosa told me that we could use the glass tiles (2x2)for the floor. However, teh rep doesn't know if the tiles will lose their shine overtime. I will only use very sparingly, probably no more than 8 for a space of 60 square feet. I am curious if anyone who may have used glass tiles on the floor, and how they may have changed over time. The polished nickel will have a warm gold tone depending on the manufacturer. Some deeper than others. I think I would use a color that leans toward that warm color. I personally like a dark floor, but that is personal. Some travertine will have pink undertones. If it was me I'd probably go with porcelain because I could count on the color to be the color of my sample. Some travertine samples that people have used to decide for their stone, came delivered (and sometimes installed) way different then they thought, causing a lot of disappointment and tear outs. Can you post some pictures of your options so far? Have you looked on houzz? For a more modern log home you would pick colors the same way you would in a regular home - bring all your pieces together and draw a color out of them...if you are really feeling the country then you may want to be in sage greens, pumpkin, fall reds and things like that. I do agree - no need to paint before cabinets go in - don't rush... find colors you are drawn to and paint poster boards and hang them up and look at them for a week or so... Good luck!
