Question re: SW Sea Salt and Rainwashed
Comments (3)We have SW Sea Salt in our master bath and though it's a very light color, I can guarantee you it's NOT pastel. LOL Both Sea Salt and Rainwashed are quite pretty once they've dried completely and really that's the key, when I used them, I noticed there is a difference once they completely dry and cure. Another color in that family that is also quite pretty but just a tad darker is Tradewinds. We used that color in another bathroom and even though it seemed pretty dark at first, it dried into a really pretty shade and wasn't too dark at all. I think any of these colors would be beautiful in any room. Just keep in mind, they are very soothing to be in which is why they're popular to use in bedrooms & baths, but if the mood you're after is light, airy and soothing, I can guarantee you, you're on the right track....See MoreHELP! Can't choose between BM Quiet Moments and SW Sea Salt!
Comments (17)I sampled sea salt, quiet moments and rainwashed. In my very brightly lit, wall of southern windows (that have white plantation shutters that REALLY reflect our bright green florida lawn and our equally bright blue skies) open living space the Sea salt turned bright blue, quiet moments gray, and rainwashed bright green. All three of these colors look radically different and more like paint chip in my bright east facing bath that does Not reflect a lot of green and blue into room. i mixed 1/3 of each sample (measured with a scale for exact replicable measurements) and came out with a beautiful soft grayed green blue). Playing with other ratios today with same samples. my local paint store wouldnt take responsibility for calculating formulas based on my mad science projects, so they gave me all three individual formulas for me to calculate what i want. They will mix to those numbers. i am having them do a sample tomorrow with that formula to make sure it comes out good. good luck everyone....See MoreWant to paint a smaller LR in SW Sea Salt but my sofa is a maroon colo
Comments (13)It seems you are in love with Sea Salt. I don’t blame you, it’s a wonderful color. Blue in some lighting, green in others, it’s soft and breezy. I still don’t think it’s a great color for a living room (maroon included or not) and it’s so light it probably won’t be visible in the hallway at all, BUT... it would be pretty with the white cabinets in your kitchen and with the black and white floors in your bath. Comfort Gray, which is one shade darker on the strip is just a little darker version of the Sea Salt and is quite pretty as well. As I mentioned earlier, we had the Sea Salt in our new master bath, however the lighting in there wasn’t a good match and too dark especially in the winter. We repainted with the Comfort Gray and that did the trick. This blog has some great gray tones that I think would give you that light airy feel your seeking but will not clash with the tones in your sofa. BM Gray Owl is a stunning gray that’s pretty popular. (And SW can mix BM colors) As you can see from the pic below, it’s beautiful. https://graceandloveblog.com/2015/03/04/fifty-shades-of-gray-paint/...See MoreSea Salt Sw paint plus blue
Comments (3)I had every strip of grayed blue-green in SW and BM, including Sea Salt, and finally settled on BM in Pale Smoke 1584 and Wales Gray 1585. Similar is SW Misty 6232 and Samovar Silver 6233. I haven't used them but in holding them up against another bath that is painted BM Silver Mist, they do have a green undertone, though not as green as Sea Salt. Sea Salt is too Colgate minty-fresh....See MoreOutsidePlaying
