Anyone done the Amazon cruise?
Comments (8)I've not done that cruise, Glenda, but I have been to the Amazon, we stayed in one of the jungle camps not far from Iquitos. It is one of the most memorable trips I have done, DO IT! You are a very young 72 and in wonderful shape, make a wonderful memory for your GS....See MoreEuropean River Cruise
Comments (13)Our room didn't have a balcony per se, but a slider that opened. I liked it even though we really didn't spend much time in the room, except to sleep. When on board, we spent the majority of our time up top catching rays and watching the beautiful scenery go by. But in the a.m., it was really nice to be able to open the door and get some fresh air. Then again, we lucked out with wonderful weather, and I'm not a fan of a/c. If it's not nice, you'd not open the window anyway. However, be aware that the river boats dock right next to each other and sometimes, your view is of the side of the next boat, about 18" away. Also keep in mind where your cabin is...the lower down, the more likely you are to have engine noise. RoseAbbey, you won't get seasick on a riverboat cruise. The only time we ever felt the boat even moving at all was when they were turning it about to dock. Otherwise, it was less motion than even riding in a car...smooth as glass....See MoreHas anyone gone on a cruise alone?
Comments (63)Have fun on your train ride; I did a long one and really enjoyed it. No airport hassel and free wi-fi. Not crowded so was able to spread out over 2 seats and sleep. Just wish it was less expensive than flying. I have a dear friend, a very intelligent firefighter/paramedic. This guy does not hesitate to run into burning buildings, but he is afraid of flying. His wedding gift to his wife was to fly to their honeymoon location; if not for a heavy dose of xanax he would have missed his honeymoon. Yes, generalized anxiety disorder is a diagnosis. The Affordable Care Act provides one of the largest expansions of mental health and substance use disorder coverage in a generation, by requiring that most individual and small employer health insurance plans, including all plans offered through the Health Insurance Marketplace cover mental health and substance use disorder services. Also required are rehabilitative and habilitative services that can help support people with behavioral health challenges. These new protections build on the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA) provisions to expand mental health and substance use disorder benefits and federal parity protections to an estimated 62 million Americans. http://www.mentalhealth.gov/get-help/health-insurance/ @chisue, If you are looking for "talk therapy" it is usually better to see a psychologist/PhD, as psychiatrists/MD's are primary used for medication management....See Moreriver cruises
Comments (2)Did you find anything? I went with Viking last summer. We were quite pleased. That said, it seemed to be more about the eating and drinking than the places that were visited. We had shore excursions everywhere, but they tended to be short. Excursion leaders, all locals, were very well versed in their subjects. Food was terrific, though, and so was the ship. Ages of participants were older than expected. Many guests did not even go on the excursions?!...See More- 4 years ago
