Help me find this floral rug!
Comments (32)Annkathryn, it was no problem since i happened to be looking for myself also. i thought the greenish tan one was nicer too. the red is a bit too bold IMO. i recall they were 6x9. this was in the san carlos location if you end up going, but other locations might have more selection. i just ordered a trellis rug on overstock and am crossing my fingers it will work (overstock is currently having a 15% off sale on rugs btw). DH is glad to no longer be rug shopping with me, lol. happy shopping!...See Moreriver cruises
Comments (2)Did you find anything? I went with Viking last summer. We were quite pleased. That said, it seemed to be more about the eating and drinking than the places that were visited. We had shore excursions everywhere, but they tended to be short. Excursion leaders, all locals, were very well versed in their subjects. Food was terrific, though, and so was the ship. Ages of participants were older than expected. Many guests did not even go on the excursions?!...See MoreFly or repositioning cruise? What would you do?
Comments (43)Sabbath, our overnight ferry was Silja Lines. My recollection was that it was nice. I would think that Viking ought to be very nice! Here are the things that I remember: It was mid-July and it never really got dark. At one point in the later part of the evening, we could see the sun nearly setting on one side of the ship and the moon rising on the other side. It was mid-July and it was cold! DH and I thought it would be great to have coffee on the deck before breakfast. We opened the door, got slammed by a cold wind, and went back inside. The speed of the ship combined with the water temperature made it very chilly. It was a smooth trip. Although you cross the Baltic Sea, you are never really out in wide-open water like the Atlantic or Pacific. I had no trouble sleeping. The funniest part of that trip, which has no bearing on your trip, was my daughter hitting DH up for money for the video machines. We were at dinner. She finished and wanted to go play the video machines. DH would give her a bit of money and soon she’d be back for more. He’d give her a little more. This went on for a while until she turned up with money to give him! Unbeknownst to us, she was playing the slot machines and finally hit a small winner! She was 11! Bon Voyage!...See MoreBeach or cruise?
Comments (51)I grew up along the shores of Lake Erie, we were at the beach a lot. I currently live about three miles from the Gulf of Mexico beaches and I don't go, too many people. For those who don't know me here, the missus and I cruise. In our 22+ years of marriage, we have cruised for 476 days (yup, got a list). We would be on a cruise now except that the missus had to have surgery and we canceled our trip from San Diego to Lima, Peru and back. We like to travel and cruising gets us to places we have not been without hours and hours of air plane confinement. Our cruises that a planned for this year: Vancouver to Ft. Lauderdale (through Panama Canal again) for 22 days on a ship that holds a maximum of 2000 passengers; then in November, we sail from Venice, Italy to Ft. Lauderdale for 29 days on a ship that carries a maximum of 670 passengers. Yeah, several of those ports we have been before, but it will allow us to explore places we have yet to experience. Next March, we have planned a trip from Buenos Aries, around the cape, up the west side of South America, through the Panama Canal (again) and finally in to Ft. Lauderdale, 1500 passengers should be about it. Many of the ports of call have beaches (they're on the water ya know), and many passengers get off and go to the beach and back on the ship. The next port of call, they repeat it. I can see the sunrise and sunset most days without obstruction and there are enough opportunities to sit in the sun if I wish. And...cruising does not necessarily have to be expensive (although it can be). We cruised from Ft. Lauderdale to Montreal in 15 days last year for a total of less than $3,000 (cruise & food only). Several years ago, we were on a ship from 42 days, from Ft. Lauderdale to the Mediterranean and back) and the total cost was less than $9,000. Most people don't want to be away that long, thus the moderate cost....See MoreRelated Professionals
