opinions on these roses
Comments (19)I grow Salet, RdR, SdlM and MIP. Of those, my favorite is Salet. The bush form is nice and rounded and it has been in constant bloom this year with no noticeable disease in my no spray garden. I also very much like the other three, but RdR can look pretty ragged during the summer months. I still keep it, because the blooms have the most wonderful fragrance. SdlM always looks good, but does not bloom as much as Salet. MIP during the summer months tends to behave as RdR (i.e. looks a bit ragged), but there are some new, strong canes coming up right now, so it is starting to look good again. I would not go without any of these roses, but Salet and SdlM do look the best in my garden. Joanne...See MoreUploading pictures
Comments (3)TheMasterGardener1 It's not that I don't know where or how. It's that there is no way around storing them on a third party website (like photobucket), before all the hoops and hassles of posting them which is my biggest issue. Grizzman, If your not suggesting using a third party website to store them, how can I go around doing so? I have at times posted links to the other forum where I can post pictures. But if you (or anyone) wants to actually view them, they need to register as a user in that forum before they can view attachments. I don't post links to them much because I think it's kind of hypocritical to ask others to jump through hoops (registering), when I'm not willing to do the same. Perhaps I'm a bit pampered when it comes to uploading online data/pictures. I have had the luxury of being able to do that in seconds from the start (in the first forum), and have no wish to go backwards. But besides going through the hassle, I just cant get past needing to have them stored on some other website, and in their database. That may be hard for most people to understand. But if it wasn't for that part, I may consider the other hassles. I don't do the occasional picture. I'm not willing to go to the hassle of registering/longing in, as well as take the time of uploading a picture to some third party website each time I wanted to post a single picture. I've got enough other accounts to keep track of for me to consider doing that (even if I could get past the fact they were stored on/in someones elses website/database). I would consider linking to pictures in my online database, but I need to get some money rolling in before I can get back to that. Bottom line, the only online database I trust is mine, and that's it. It's not my fault this forum's software is outdated. I don't feel I need to compromise my beliefs, or spend that much more time because of it. It's not that my pictures are valuable and I have a copyright on them. But the amount of pictures I take are huge. I even take pictures of every part I build a system with for use in describing how I built them. I plan to use them in the free "build your own hydroponic system plans." Photobucket and any other like websites don't provide their services/web-space for free. They make money from advertising. I'm not willing to let them make money from me using their site. Me generating viewers, and increasing their online popularity. Thus increasing their income, and me not getting anything in return....See More4th Annual Tomato & Pepper Seed Exchange - Updates (Thread 2)
Comments (60)First and most important , Heidi wants seeds for growing Jerky Tenders-Duck Dog Treats. She likes them a lot and thanks you for sending them to her. We both liked all the goodies you sent. A great suprise gift. Also she says she thinks this bag isn't quite right. Send a couple more bags so she can compare them....she only needs a few dozen bags more to hold her over until her seeds grow...if you can send some. :) Several people who got the seeds I donated have E mailed me with Thank you E Mails and questions. You are all welcome. The seeds were a combination of non isolated and isolated seeds. From peoples gardens (and mine) and trades. If any seeds grow some interesting crosses let me know. I'm interested in trading for some of the crossed seeds. Some people asked if I wanted seeds back in return after harvest. If anyone wants to get in touch with me about having seeds they want to give me thats cool. I'll find them a good home. I'm also always up for a trade for stuff to freshen up my collection or add to it. I do a LOT of SASBE offers and extra seeds for any kind of non bell pepper is always welcome,no matter what kind of chile it is. I try to help a lot of the "Chile impaired" get access to non bell peppers when I can. I don't grow anything, right now but non bell peppers. No flowers or other veggies.I have limited growing space and lost some of it last year. Thanks for the offers of veggie seeds but I just can't use them right now. If I find another place to garden in I might be able to grow more stuff latter on. Thanks for the seed offers. Once again Heather ,thanks for doing this every year. I'm sure a lot of people are getting access to seeds they might not have otherwise been able to grow and harvest....See More4th Annual Tomato & Pepper Seed Exchange - Updates (Thread 2)
Comments (48)Tomorrow morning I am mailing seeds to: * mayeeta That's the last of the envelopes for this swap. If I inadvertantly forgot to post that I mailed your envelope back, not to worry...it's been sent. Thanks everyone for your participation and patience while I fill envelopes. Next year, if I decide to do this again, I think I'll bump up the deadline by a week, so I'm not stuffing envelopes when I should be getting ready for Christmas...LOL. Take care everyone. Enjoy the Christmas season with your friends, family and of course...beloved pets. .....Heather...See Moreroxanna7
