Need Help with Living Room Layout

It has been a challenge due to the patio door and stairs. Need some advice on which looks better.

Here is this floor plan layout without any furniture

P.S. Would love advice on if I should have full-length mirror hung on wall or on floor? Also, I would appreciate any recommendations on other wall decor ideas that may be better. Thank you :)

Everyone wants a sectional with a chaise. Not everyone can or should have one. Measure the room and include the dimensions of the sectional you shouldn't have : ) Note the CHAISE portion, and the two seat separately.. Length, depth etc

Include door, windows etc, the stair. all inches and upload a drawing, noting particularly inches from foot of stair to window wall.

We have a wood burning wood stove (can install any where we are at the framing stages), one wall of windows with pure lake views, two solid walls, and the last wall is open to the kitchen. It’s 15x17 and it’s our living room at the lake, so a 70” TV will have to fit too. Need help with furniture layout. Buying all new. I am struggling with making it all look good. Hi Annabelle, I'm Neha. I created a mock up of your room and came up with the following layout. Since its a small place I wouldn't recommend a sectional. Maybe a 3 seater sofa and two swivel chairs would work well. The height at which the TV right now might not be very comfortable. I recommend you mount the TV to the wall next to the fireplace. Place two ottomans near the fireplace for extra seating. Since I was not very clear on the nook behind the sofa, I've left that as space for storage. It would be best to keep all your furniture compact. You can also place a table and chair and make it a working/reading space. I could help you with more layouts and furniture suggestions if required.

Also, the fireplace is being prepped to be painted white! The mantel was recently removed, since we are going to place a wooden beam over it.

nice after shot. beautiful floors. honestly, I'd get a diff sofa. that one just doesn't fit the style or the size, of the home. remember w/area rugs, it shouldn't look like a 'floating carpet getting ready to go for a ride"! it needs to be anchored. a coffee table, push it further under the sofa, put some chairs in the corners, etc. are those drapes needed in the nook area? they close it off a bit. you could do a little seating area w/plants or build some simple built in benches this type of look or, remove the drapes, try and find a small loveseat that fits in that nook and use it for extra seating

Why is the tv so high? Should be sitting on furniture under it.

Geez,.............no mirror. Think about what it reflects. Nothing but the stairs & the TV.

I large ceiling fan or chandelier could help the space.

Hi. It is a challenging space. Your layout options did not post.

When designing a space, it has to both function and look good. There is no sense in adding decor until you have a functional floor plan and right now, you do not.

I can help, if you can give more information

1) Photos of the other walls of the room.

2) Do you have to keep the sofa with the chaise?

3) Is the sliding door used?

4) How many people must be accommodated to sit in the space on a regular basis?
