ladyshadowwalker - your light came out great! It looks like a factory finish. The Possini light I like does come in either chrome (which would match the chandelier ceiling canopy) or brushed nickel (which would look pretty close to the brushed stainless handles and appliances.) I also wonder if I would better off just trying to find a light with almost no metal at all - I will post some in another posting. mydreamhome, I hear what you are saying - thanks for the link to the bathroom forum discussion and for the compliment on the tile and chandelier. I liked Mongoct's bath photo - I can see how the ORB he used up top also reflects the floor color. I am a bit sensitive to different finishes, though, and the brushed nickel pulls with the polished nickel faucet would bother me (it doesn't look bad at all in that bathroom, I just would personally not get used to it so quickly.) But I definitely think that especially as most people will not be thinking about this when they see the kitchen, they'll be just taking it in as a whole, that I am probably the only person who gives a darn. :-) Going to post some options in a minute!

I have seen it in person. It isnt overly bright. However the cushions are not cheap and an investment that I am sure you would like to last several seasons. If you choose a color like that you are tied into it until you part with the cushions. By doing something more neutral, black, navy, black and white stripe, navy and white stripe, natural etc. it allows you to "change it up" from season to season with accents in the form of pillows etc. I find each spring when its time to bring out the outdoor pieces again I want something new and fresh. Replacing accent pieces is affordable and fun to do. Replacing investment pieces like cushions/cushion covers isn't doable for most of us on a seasonal basis. You could easily add that color as your accent with navy or black or natural. Next season you may want hot pink or yellow or red or green which all would be able to be added with navy black or neutral too.

The ones you have look pretty good. What direction were you wanting to go with the replacements?

It is not centered over the table unfortunately. It's centered for the room but with the built in seating, everything got pushed to one side. Not sure I want to drill a hole in the ceiling just yet. I may replace the table with a round one, which may make the light centered again :)
