Please HELP with exterior paint colors! Need to pick ASAP!
Comments (9)@decoenthusiaste LOL! I regretted the 'modern farmhouse' when I wrote it. I think I mean a monochrome look, darker overall, with siding, trim and fascia all one color. I am just not into the white highlighter outline look so many are doing. Want to be ahead of the trend and stand out. However, I am so afraid to get it 'wrong.' We did choose a roof color that pulls all the brick colors together. It's an overall medium to darker gray, with hints of warmth and black through. We would ideally like to avoid coating the brick. We would consider after, if it looks bad. We would really like to keep it and roll with it. The garage doors will be converted to one larger door, but yes, there is brick between, with a strip of hideous siding above currently. All to be redone. Unfortunately, we are headed into winter and the siding color needs to be selected this week, or we push to next year...and we just don't want to do that....See MoreHelp! Need to decide exterior paint asap! Looking for mock ups to help
Comments (22)Thank you Celerygirl for all of the mock ups....they are so appreciated! I['m still unsure at this point but what are your thoughts on shutters? Also, what is the closest Sherwin Williams color to your suggested Benjamin Moore Timber Wolf? I tried to google it with no success. I'm still so torn, Granite Peak was always my top but maybe a Gray is what I should go with? I literally can't sleep with this hanging over my head but I'm going to try, and probably like in the past, I'll dream of color and paint yet again! jck910 & katinparadise - I so appreciate your feedback too. Do you know what Sherwin Williams paint color is closest to BM Storm by chance? When you mentioned the blues weren't resonating with you, can you be more specific on the paint samples I have on my house? I wasn't sure if you were looking solely at the mock ups or those as well? (And I know have some dark blues in there) as well as some lights, the one on the left up top (Poolhouse) is my fiance's favorite but it's been a NO for me almost immediately. LOL Thank you all again, and please respond if/when you can, I greatly appreciate it. I don't know if I have to give the painter the answer tomorrow morning though I'm hoping I have until late afternoon....fingers crossed! Until tomorrow, good night!...See MoreHelp! Comments (33)great house. I think tan is a horrible choice! sorry, but with all that beautiful greenery and foilage, painting it tan wouldn't look right. (especially w/your color roof) If you did more of a warm gray and addded in some shake/shingles, along w/your siding, I think that would look a lot better. love the orange door w/this too. if you like the green grays, have you tried any of these w/a crisp white? I also don't care for a depressing gray shade, unless you're doing another color w/the trim/doors/windows. what about a blue or blue gray? I like this combo that Celery listed: I like this one too (I believe it's Grizzle Gray paired w/a crisp white trim and a warmer red accent) I belive the key is doing a bright white trim w/whatever color you choose. the current creamier trim color you have looks dull. Personally I like the darker colors that match the greenery. I don't think they stand out (and if they do, in a good way, who cares?) I think either of these w/some wood accents, would look amazing w/your green landscaping...See MoreNeed to decide exterior paint colors in 3 days - help please
Comments (8)Appreciate the feedback! Excellent comments. Still not sure what will be decided since it is more a family group decision...which makes it tougher. I've heard Sand Castle, Cottonwood and Summer House Beige (all Sherwin Williams colors). Tomorrow it could be something else. Depends on which way the wind is blowing. @Debbie Downer, good question on stain!! We are hiring a painter to do the job and they are aware of what needs to be done. Concerns are valid ones for sure. The older we get the less maintenance we desire to do. @wiseca9 the images you did help. I tried to do similar ones and they didn't come out as good as yours. @Jennifer Hogan and @Debbie Downer I am sure whatever gets picked once the house is painted there will be a desire to change some landscaping. That has changed through the years and I am sure it will again. It used to have bushes throughout. They can get out of hand over time. @mindshift honestly that is what is driving the possible color change. It is one of the, if not the, darkest homes in the neighborhood. It does make it easy to tell people how to find us. The trend today seems to be lighter colors. Many homes have gone to vinyl siding or painted different colors than original when built. I think ultimately once a color is decided (which it hasn't) and it is painted, it will look nice since it is long overdue. I need to post pictures here when it is all said and done....See Morecydnie
