Tiny awkward laundry room
Comments (8)First of all, see if you can get that dryer closer to the wall. Google "flat dryer vent" and you'll get an idea of what you can use to minimize space lost. Since the door is right there, I assume that this is some kind of mud room? In which case maybe you can paint...If it's a part of the kitchen, then it will need to stay that way. I've used these in Laundry rooms just for fun: They're decals that are not sticky, remove cleanly and you can get them in any color you like. You can get one of these for items that need to hang to dry.. Pottery Barn has them , but you can get them elsewhere for less, I'm sure. If you want, you can even get removable decals for the washer and dryer... Your shelves can be organized with cute baskets in whatever color you like... Labels will stick to these...I've done it and it works...Or you can tie cute kraft paper tags to the handles... Just because it's a small space, doesn't mean that it can't make you smile :)...See MoreDining room wall art?? (Another awkward space in my little old house)
Comments (12)@Patricia Colwell I have this piece but haven't brought it up yet as it is quite large and I wanted to try some other things instead. The artwork below is 51" x 41", so it would only possibly work on the left wall in the photos, which is 61" long. Its 2 1/8" deep and I worried with this one that it would stick out too much off the wall as it's a walk way there to the powder room! The rug is leather/cowhide with metallic paint on the spots where they drop acid, it's a common style of cowhide. It looks better in real life than the photos definitely, but I might skip a rug altogether in this room. I will probably try it and see how it looks, and I will post photos if I do. The art work is quite boring, haha. I was trying to keep it very neutral and light, but not boring!!...See MoreWhat to do with awkward space in dinning room?
Comments (6)Nothing. It's the only breathing space in the room between the dog beds, cabinet, mirror, dining table, corner cabinet and window console table. If you feel compelled to fill that space, take the pictures on the hallway wall (that you can't enjoy because there's no light anyway), reframe into coordinating colors and hang in the open space which will then leave the hallway wall as breathing space to the next area of the house. Maybe remove the items, on top of the cabinet below the mirror, to steady the visual space....See MoreHELP!! Awkward Laundry room
Comments (13)If you haven’t already, search ’budget laundry room makeovers’ for lots of ideas and inspiration. This is one I saw for storage ideas … you could look online or at a local Restore for a free or cheap cabinet. Add shelves, paint if needed, look on Youtube for installation tutorials. If you can’t remove the sink, make a skirt for it: Those came up at the top, there are limitless pages of others. Look through and I think you’ll get some good ideas. :)...See MoreDwelly LLC
