Regarding a 4" or 3" or 3" etc. backsplash. If you're not planning on tiling, there's nothing wrong with them. Nor do they look stupid or dated when used alone. Just skip them if you're tiling. Does this kitchen look stupid or dated or "low rent"? What about this one? This one? This one? Maybe this one? How about one more try? Call me crazy but none of these kitchens looked stupid or dated to me. What's going to date faster one of the kitchens above or this one? Personally, compared to the ubiquitous white subway tile or worse, elaborate intricate busy "statement" back splashes glazed with unicorn tears that people feel compelled to install, I much prefer the simple, clean lines of a painted wall paired with the much maligned 4" or 3" or 2" back splash. Of course others may disagree. I'm perfectly fine with that.

@decoenthusiaste LOL! I regretted the 'modern farmhouse' when I wrote it. I think I mean a monochrome look, darker overall, with siding, trim and fascia all one color. I am just not into the white highlighter outline look so many are doing. Want to be ahead of the trend and stand out. However, I am so afraid to get it 'wrong.' We did choose a roof color that pulls all the brick colors together. It's an overall medium to darker gray, with hints of warmth and black through. We would ideally like to avoid coating the brick. We would consider after, if it looks bad. We would really like to keep it and roll with it. The garage doors will be converted to one larger door, but yes, there is brick between, with a strip of hideous siding above currently. All to be redone. Unfortunately, we are headed into winter and the siding color needs to be selected this week, or we push to next year...and we just don't want to do that.

Miranda, Thank you for the image with the color change. I appreciate the visual. The Soji white in person is really white. I painted the fascia just to see how it would look and it was too white. I painted over it with the Acia Haze. We also live in a Arizona with horse property so my husband doesn‘t want something too light where the dirt will show up. We are liking the Urban Puddy which is the bottom left in my original picture and the big board in the pictures I added. I put up the board I made of Roadside in the morning and post a picture. The painter will pressure wash tomorrow, tape Tuesday, and start painting Thursday. Based on the comments it seems we should go with the Urban Puddy. Or does anyone have a specific color they’ve used and been happy with that is similar to what we‘re all visualizing?

You need to make that decision in your room with your light. What we see on our computer monitors may not look anything like what you see in real life. In fact the floor looks like a different color in your two photos, which should prove to you that it's impossible for anyone to pick the color for you long-distance on a website. What you could do is paint the walls the same white color as the trim. Also, are you painting before you install the new floor? Painting should come last.
