Please help me pick paint for living room/dinning room
Comments (8)I love what u have so far! Great neutral colors. However, I do agree with you the room seems a bit bland as is. U have so many great neutrals. I would suggest getting dark grey drapes to flank either side of the window and accent with golden or teal colors for a bit of pop. The photo above has the warm colored floor and charcoal cabinets, the brass hardware and teal bar stools add a bit of character without losing its sophistication. U could accent with mustard and teal pillows. Do the dark curtain and possibly have a 2nd later under the charcoal drape in one of the accent colors....See MoreArea rug to update living room, please help
Comments (12)Beverly, Thanks for your comments. You are correct, the recliner was his from 20 years ago but he is so done with it. I am the one who wouldn’t part w it because I spent so much time w my 2 boys in that recliner when they were babies lol. You just make my husband a very happy man today - the recliner will be gone lol. I also agree w you the loveseat might need to move down. The funny thing is the location you suggested is the exact location I had it before the whole area rug diploma started. We had the loveseat more toward the center and used to hide all those toys behind the loveseat. Since the kids are a bit older now, we just can’t help but push the loveseat all the way up to reclaim our space. As you can see from the photo I moved it down. The only thing bothers me is that fire place is off center focal point in this layout... Also would you suggest do a separate seating area towards the top of the room? We used to set it as a play area, it totally empty now...should we move the console by the window down and put a pouf or some low seating bench there instead? Thanks again for your input....See MorePlease help with choosing living room rug

Comments (15)I posted to rug guides in my first comment. did you see those? I think a rug in this size would be more appropriate. I'd like to see floor peeking next to hearth, and in front of console. Like this one. see how the rug leaves floor exposure by fireplace? and if there was a console in front of it, it would be even w/that little side table. you'd still have flooring in front of it. look at the other pictures I posted from an overview. see those sizes? none of them are as large as yours. your current rug is 8x10? then I'd shoot for a 7X9 or something in that vicinity. I don'tknow if the sofa can move further down, but currently it looks like it's pushed to far 'up' and the rug extends too far south of it. what about something like this?...See MoreDeb M
