What size area rug for under kitchen table?
Comments (3)You haven't accounted for the chairs while under the table and you have to add space to pull them out and when seated. Pull all your chairs out as far as you would need to in order to sit down and not catch the chair legs on edge of the rug. That is comfortably about 2' per chair (or an extra 4' of length and width). So you need about 7'6" x 9' minimum for table and chairs. Get the 8x10, IMO....See MoreWhat size of rug do I need for a 62" round extendable Table?
Comments (4)How long does the table extend? Do you want to take its maximum length into consideration? How many chairs do you have sitting at it, and when it's extended, are they also at each end, and is the table then a rectangle with rounded corners? Can you post a picture of the table with the chairs you use around it?...See MoreWhat size rug under dining 72"x72" table?
Comments (5)In a perfect world you'd have 36-42" all around the table for circulation, and a minimum of 24" of that space would be for the rug, 30"+ is even better. The chairs need scoot and sit room, and space behind so other diners can exit the table without requiring someone to stand and push their chair in for someone to pass behind them....See MoreWhat size rug should I place under a 42"d x 30"h x 76" to 100"w table?
Comments (2)The chairs (while people are seated) and the table should all comfortably fit on the rug. A 9 by 12 rug should work for your table. You might have to go larger if you have large chairs or large trestles for the base....See MoreRelated Professionals
