Please help me pick paint color for laundry room..
Comments (5)I think your instinct to go with green is correct, and there's no reason the right shade of green shouldn't go with navy. I just think you need to veer away from olive and go with a leafy or spring green. I have two recommendations for you. 1. Sherwin Williams Ryegrass. I first saw this on an Apartment Therapy post under "The perfect green." It inspired me to go out and try a sample of it myself and I loved it so much I'm about to paint a room in my house that color. It looks like it would go with the color scheme you already have in your laundry room. 2. Glidden's Fennel. You have to ask for them to make it for you, because it's not in a sample bottle or in their paint decks out on the floor, but they do still have the formula. This is in the same color family as Ryegrass, but a lighter green, without being minty or turning yellow. These are both great colors, if you choose to stay with green. I've linked to a picture of Ryegrass below, and here's a couple of links for Fennel... http://farm1.static.flickr.com/61/198029036_b3d03d14f7_o.jpg http://perpetualrenovator.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/dscf2554.jpg Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreHelp me pick art for my living room + dining room!
Comments (10)No, I don't think it would look awful. I love big art pieces. The important thing though is do YOU like it? It's your home and it's important that it please YOU. Looking at your picture, I'm wondering if the art above the sofa isn't a tad big for that wall. (I really like it, btw.) Usually, the eye appreciates some breathing room around art. If you have painter's tape, try taping out that canvas' size above your couch and see just how much wall it covers. That might help you visualize its negative space better. Good luck and enjoy the process!...See MorePlease help me pick paint-Dining Room Edition.
Comments (495)Slow. I ordered the rug and a new chair. Moved some plants up. Been looking at natural texture blinds. Once the rug comes I'll be able to settle on places for things. I'm trying to decide where I want the rocking chair, too. It's in a nice dark corner right now and it looks great against the wall, with a plant next to it, but I had a bookcase there before. :/ Not sure on the dining room and I'm no longer feeling dark night. Borscht might have been a better choice. I don't want to pay to have it repainted so I'll probably just live with it. Maybe I can bring those colors in with decor and let the paint fade to the background?...See MoreHelp me pick living room paint!
Comments (11)Forgive me for being irreverent, but every time I see pale yellow walls, I'm reminded of some movie industry trivia I learned long ago - apparently, there's a similar shade of pale yellow that set decorators used to call 'old man's d**k', and it was used to make backgrounds seem to disappear 😄 That said (again apologies) what about reflecting the color of the ceiling? I think it would look nice if both walls and ceiling were the same color....See MoreFebe culter
