Comments (11)The vase picture didn't come through for me. Can you post it in this thread, I'd love to see it. Grandma Bonnie, the redneck bird feeders sound like a riot! can't wait to see them. I now have a serger and I'd love to think of something to make using it. Maybe expand on my already existing mushroom and flower themes. Right now I'm just using it to alter clothing for myself, and to make some indoor/outdoor cushion covers. Its still new and I haven't gotten a creative idea of how to use it yet. It is awesome tho. Comments (50)Hi all! I finished several projects and have moved on to a matching purse (for mom --to match her baby's anouk I made from the knitty), a made a superfun and pink fuzzy felted purse for myself, and now I am knitting up a super warm shawl for myself to keep on my computer chair and snuggle as I surf the web!!! My goal is to chew down some of my yarn stash so I don't have to feel quite as guilty when I give in to my next yarn bash. I saw someone looking for slipper patterns.... I don't have the addy but do a search under knit a longs and there is currently a great knit along for slippers with loads of free patterns for you. Hope this helps. I like looking at the knit a longs as it gives great ideas and different color/yarn combos. Also for my next quick projects am thinking of making stripey pocket pals http://www.theknittinggarden.com/gallery/aug-free-3.htm a skele fish (cool glow in the dark one) http://www.fjsmjs.com/Mary/skelefish.htm and a few free toy patterns (love Monty the Monkey)on sullivan knitting yarns site http://www.sullivans.net to help use up some of my yarn stash and make it a bit of fun. Happy knitting/crocheting all!...See More'Tis the season to be crafting. (Got any projects going?)
Comments (33)Hello Alisande, the way I read it, Dorset buttons come from Dorset England, they were made for clothing around the 1600's to the middle 1800's. They are the precursor to machine made buttons, I'm sure you could use them today on modern clothes if you wanted to :) I'm not sure what I'll do with these yet, maybe include them in some weaving or knitting somehow. I've got an idea to make a larger one for a shawl pin. I've knitted several shawls and this time of year need to keep them closed lol. I got the idea from a circle weaving group I belong to on Facebook and once I tried it I found out how incredibly easy they are to do (and addictive I made another one after I posted these lol). I love your rug hooking it's going to be beautiful!...See MoreWhat projects are YOU working on?
Comments (33)Yesterday Dad and finished re-shingeling the gazebo. Took 13 bundles which was about 10 more then I had. Projects always take more time and money then I think. But it is the last roofing job for hopefully a lot of years. Did the big shed 3 years ago and we did the house last year of the year before in steel so I will NEVER have to re do it can't express how happy that makes me. I really really really hate shingling oh yeah Im not good at it either, way too slow and clumsy, very grateful for a Dad who is handy and wants to help me with these things. Current project is finishing a baby quilt for a new cousin, slow at that too hmm I detect a pattern here....See Morenicole___
