Happy Halloween to all who consume candy. Happy Halloween to all the dentists who are planning to pay off their mortgages. Happy Halloween to all the antacid manufacturers. And most of all, Happy Halloween to the moms and dads that know which treats can stunt a child's development and will eat them in the name of love for their children...once again.

Happy Halloween! We don't get trick-or-treaters here up on top of the mountain so I don't buy candy ... until the after-sales!!! If I'm lucky I can score a couple of bags of Reeses miniature cups at a bargain and put them in the freezer for Christmas baking.

I found out that the rings on her corset are for holding ingredients (dried herbs, dead rodents, you get the picture). Mary's what one would call a "kitchen witch" as she's always preparing foods or gathering ingredients for Winifred's potions. Her hairstyle is not supposed to be a witch's hat, but rather, it was inspired buy a curled pumpkin stem ;). I love all three sisters, but Winifred/Winnie (whom I went as a couple years ago if you recall) is my favorite. "Shish-ka-baby" is one of my favorite quotes of hers. If you want to humble yourself, work as a server in a restaurant or work with the public. You're often treated like dirt, only rarely being shown compassion or praise. I think for work, since we can't do a full costume, I'll either don a wig or wear one of those witch hats on a headband (probably the witch hat-since a witch is always my go-to classic costume). Of course, Mary or the Bride's hairdos would get a laugh. I have two Hocus Pocus masks, so maybe I'll don Mary's signature 'do. Halloween 2021 hopefully will be back to the way we used to know it. Oh, and Mother Darling and I discovered a film that's become quite dear to us. Has anyone ever seen it? I have a pin with this photo on it I bought off of Etsy. It says "S-T-A-U-N-C-H" on it ;). Happy Halloween! I bought a pumpkin today because they still don't have pie pumpkins out. I found one that seems ripe and a big drier than the average Jack o'Lantern. It may become soup, or lasagna, or both.

I was also feeling low on sugar, so I bought some big, crisp blueberries, and they're lovely, and just enough tart, but I don't know if it's enough sugar. Maybe a one bite Twix is the thing after all... (I always buy a bag of candy, but the neighborhood kids are grown so it's rare that we get a trick-or-treater.)

I had 3 bags of candy's worth of Trick or treaters...lots of really cute costumes!!
And of course I bought 4 bags of candy....so I won't be deprived.

We lived on a dark country road for 33 years and had ONE T-or_ter! Moved to the street in town that has the most, had 1500 and ran out of candy at 8:00 rather than 9:00! The middle of the block gets 3-5,000!

It brought some normalcy to another crazy year of fires and evacuations!

Crazy, but fun! Brought some normalcy to many families who were again evacuated by fires!

The McDonald Mansion (where they filmed Pollyanna in the 60's) always has a big free thing for kids. It's our 3rd year here on McDonald and we have yet to get into the mansion on Halloween! Too crowded!
