pink eden no roses blooming
Comments (12)I'm not sure what Pink Eden is. There is no such named rose, as far as I know. If you are talking about the climbing rose also known as 'Pierre de Ronsard,' then I can generally observe that a number of posters have complained that it is not very floriferous. Mine usually had a lovely spring flush and then more limited re-bloom the rest of the season, sometimes with long rest periods between bloomings. Some posters complained their Eden was essentially a one-season (spring) bloomer with no re-bloom at all. I'm wondering also if this rose resents severe pruning. Mine was getting rather overgrown and the canes really thick and inflexible, so I tried a severe pruning--to encourage new growth. It did put out some new growth, but it didn't appear very happy and made almost no progress during the next couple years--didn't even get tall enough to "climb" anything and produced no blooms. So I finally spaded it and planted a new one--which also is not growing very fast but at least looks very healthy and thriving. Hopefully by next spring I'll get the big show-piece that Eden always was in the past. No more severe pruning of Eden, however--at least in my yard. Kate...See MorePretty in Pink Eden climber 2015

Comments (24)My Eden, also own-root from Heirloom, blooms its heart out in Spring and has recently started repeating in a second large flush. The upcoming summer will be its fourth. You can see pictures of its second and third year on this thread: http://forums2.gardenweb.com/discussions/4601390/edenthe-low-down-dirty-detailspost-here?n=32 A few other things to consider would be: 1) as someone else indicated above, how is it situated? Does it get optimal sun? 2) How are you fertilizing it? Does it get too much nitrogen, which can cause lots of growth at the expense of blooms? 3) What is going on with your other roses? Do they all bloom as much as you would expect? Could there be rose midge involved? 4) Where did you get it? Could this be a clone that is virused? 5) How does it do for others in your area? Might this be related to the winter not getting cold enough for this rose to bloom really well? I hope you can troubleshoot it, because this rose is really a stunner once it gets going. Every year I tell myself I will get rid of it because it has no real fragrance to my nose, and every year it is more beautiful. I can't bring myself to dig it up. Good luck!...See MorePretty in Pink Eden
Comments (25)@Tiffanddrew-So.CA/9b how is your pretty in pink Eden looking and doing??? I’m super curious to see what it looks like… Because I just recently purchased a Pretty Pink Eden… That looks very similar to yours with the bigger more open blooms instead of the really dense petal packed Cupped Blooms that I often see with pretty in pink Eden. I was hoping that the reaaon that the blooms looked like this was just because it was a brand new young plant . As you can see the blooms looked so different and has less petals and less of a cupped bloom form. Mine looks very similar to yours. Did the blooms on your pretty in pink Eden ever become more densely packed with petals and cupped... i’m hoping that as it matures it will look more like what the standard of a pretty in pink Eden should look like. Here are some pics of my PIP Eden....See MoreStephanie, 9b inland SoCal
