Is there a length limit on thread starter posts?

John, you don't see Edit and Delete in the upper right corner of your post?

I do, but only for the replies. The initial post has no edit or delete buttons.

The problem is that when I try to make the "real" post, it doesn't show up in the forum. At all.

I'm trying to figure out if there is a trick that I don't know.

Hmmm...that is odd. Hopefully someone here can help. Houzz seems to have gremlins around lately. I know some people are having trouble posting photos. :-/

Houzz decided to swallow all my attempts yesterday to post a thread and then dumped them all on the forum 18 hours later. So now I'm a spammer. :-(

John, Houzz does that to me periodically, and it fights with me over pictures too. (sigh)

Trigger words. “Don’t let the B’s get you down.” I went to the test forum and used that full word; my post did not show up. Another post without that word showed up right away. I’m thinking some words are all out forbidden and others will be subject to review for context.

That reminds me of a quote from The Women:

So if you are in a kennel, it is a perfectly acceptable word.

I got an email from Houzz yesterday for the first time about a post that I did and what followed and I've never allowed that to happen in my account settings. I don't want to be notified if a post that I started has updates. I don't know why it happened. I went in and updated my personal stuff, I don't want to be alerted about my posts or have my email address publicized or anything like that.

Your email is not publicized!! That is completely internal to the site. You can opt out to receive any notifications to your postings or to any thread you comment on but no one has any access to your email.
