I agree with the others...no apology necessary, and I see nothing wrong with trading envys for seeds. Possibly, since it is the Seed Xchange, it is necessary to have seeds listed in the subject line...as in "wanted: Seeds...flowers/veggies" and not something like "Have envys for trade." Could that maybe have been it? I'm just guessing here as to why it was not all right. The trading for postage in the past has occasionally been a problem. It is not really a 'trade'. I recently had a newbie confide in me that the postage the 'sasbe offerer' said they needed considerable more postage ($) if the receiver wanted any more than just one pack. Sheesh! We all know that more than one pack can be send for the same minimum amount of postage, unless they are a large quantity of huge seeds. It seemed they were trying to 'gain' at least a little at the expense of a newbie, instead of being a generous sharer, as the post lead one to believe. Anywho...Welcome! and Happy Gardening! You answered to a posting that I put up because I have trade commitments with people right now and I wanted to make sure that I didn't leave anyone out after I was having internet problems. Fran,I am happy you addressed this,it was tearing my heart out watching a few of my buddies at odds with eachother. You all are great ladies and of course have different points of view. I am probably sticking my nose in where it doesnt belong,but from both negative posts, I got that the fact, there was no communication with them and,that this person was posting elsewhere for trades and such,was the part that was most upsetting to them.I find it hard to swallow that either of these ladies were nasty and that is why they were avoided. Maybe emails did get sent to spam,it seems there was alot of miscommunication and confusion in these trades. That is why it is important for people that know they have trades out there to touch base,I bet if both of these ladies had been contacted and told what was going on,there would have been no negative post or hard feelings. It is understandable that when someone has tragedy in their lives that they would not be thinking of seed trades,and I am sorry to hear that this person has suffered as she is,it really is alot for one person to take. But at one point you do have to take care of your commitments,even if it is a brief email saying..."I didnt forget about you.Please hold on a bit longer"... This situation can be a valuable lesson for others,communication is golden and it can avoid alot of, what I consider a tragedy, here. I hope there is a happy ending to all of this,I don't like seeing people I care about hurting or on the defense. I know this is really none of my business,but it has been bothering me, and from an outside point of view,I think there can be resolution in this and that everyone will come out smiling! I think that maybe it's because she's such a busy kid. She probably is so busy playing and doing whatever that she doesn't want to take the time to go the bathroom and go, so she goes wherever it's more convenient. Also there is the issue of her seeing others going in different places and being allowed to on certain occasions. Maybe you need to explain in the best way possible that it's not always okay to do that. I know we have the problem with DS. He's learning that he can go in our yard if were outside but we have to stop him from doing it elsewhere. The best thing we could do was tell him to tell us he has to go before he does. That way we get him to the correct place and aren't in an embarrassing situation. I know what you're saying about people comparing kids. Your friend needs to realize that not all kids are the same. Many children don't focus on the same areas at the same time. While yours has maybe been more active, her daughter may have been more into verbal and social skills. It's normal for kids to be like this. So what if her daughter learned to go in the potty in a week and it's taking yours months? That's normal. Maybe it's time you did speak up once in awhile. Maybe say that she's your daughter and your decision or something? People walk all over you and overstep boundaries only because you yourself let them. It's hard to get to understand that because the good old Golden Rule taught us to treat others the way we wanted to be treated. These days it seems to not apply anymore. I'm sure it's becoming more stressful than fun when you go around your friend and maybe a talk would help that. If she can't respect you, then maybe she's not a good friend after all.
