Comments (2)Also, I'm not sure what's going on with some of the leaves. Some of the leaves lower on the branches have blackened tips (only two or three have this problem), and others have slight curling, deformation and yellowing. The newer growth higher up (as can be seen in first picture) seems more vigorous and normal-looking. Is this mostly past/localized nutrient deficiency?...See MoreNo fruit on buddha hand citrus
Comments (5)yeah keeping the water off for a bit or just a bit moist seems to encourage new growth and flowering in my navel and meyer lemon. they are small still and will be potted citrus there whole lives. still don't have any problem with them flowering and growing. i use an organic citrus fertilizer for them once or twice a month depending on the season. i keep them under lights for winter so no need to stop fertilizing. Here is a link that might be useful: TheItalian Garden...See MoreBuddha's Hand
Comments (7)It may have been a grafted variety where the rootstock has over taken the Buddha hand. This happened to me once I bought a kaffir lime, grew into a citrus tree that turned out to be the rootstock it was grafted on to. It did bear a couple of nasty citrus fruit after many years. I just tossed the tree out. The other scenario is that you are not taking care of it properly. Citrus trees love sun and need regular applications of high nitrogen citrus fertilizer to bloom and fruit. Please post pics....See MoreBuddha's hand citrus question
Comments (8)Haha, for drainage, of course! Beats the hell out of drilling holes. But seriously, my dad owns a junk yard, and folks are always dragging in things that are great for other purposes. I have five large industrial baskets he saved for me (cheaper than a clay pot). I lined them with landscaping paper to keep the contents inside. This is both lemons after watering I use a baster to suck all the excess water out of the bags. I'm working on welding trays to use as drip pans, but the weather and holidays have kept me inside these last few weeks. My trees seem to love them, they've flourished this past summer and I am curious to see how they do this winter. I've had a problem with WLD in the past, but so far I haven't lost a leaf and they've been inside since October....See Morekadefol
