I am a bit challenged in this regard as well, but I am pretty sure it would look better a few inches higher. Can you try that first before adding anything more?

I don't think you necessarily need anything else on the wall, but if you want to fill it in a bit more, you might try hanging the two pieces on one side, one atop the other, and hanging another smallish single piece of art on the other side. I think that would create a little more interest on the wall without being overly done.

Too bad the frame on the canvas isn't darker, I think it would balance your sofa better. I don't think the two prints would add much. I don't think the size is a problem though, at least to my eye.

The print was actually purchased frameless and my husband made me this one- I purposely went with natural wood- I thought it looked better not “Outlined”, but I could always stain it.

Just a suggestion, if you have any dark toned paper I would tape strips of it on the top edge of the frame and see what it looks like, or perhaps you can think of a better way to do it. Take a before and after pic and see what you think.

I think the picture looks fine by itself. What I would do is remove the dark grey pillows and add them to the window bench. The bench may need more color though. Also, I think the room needs taller lamps, more in the 28-30 inch height, which will help balance the sofa back and the large picture.

I like the art as is. I don’t think it needs anything at the sides and I like the frame. It’s a nice large piece of art. I‘d probably add a larger dose of the yellow/mustard color to the room. Maybe a textured throw in that color.

Maybe the lamps do need to be taller. I also thought it's a nice picture bt I think it looks a little to heavy down on the sofa. I would raise it.

We all have different opinions, it matters what looks good to you. I would pull out the circular table a bit and make sure the lamps are both at the same distance from the wall for better balance.

To me the sofa has a lot of visual weight. I would take out the lamp and table on the left and add a standing lamp. That may help with the art you have chosen to put above your sofa.

As suggested, move the pillows. Some to the bench. Put small pictures on another wall. One over the other.

I know this isn’t the right style standing lamp, but does this look better than the round table and lamp on the left side of the couch?

@User had an idea you could try and see how you feel about adding the two pieces of art on top of one another next to the larger art. Use brown paper the same size as the small art to get a visual.

I like the floor lamp, because it doesn't crowd the bench that looks like it may be in front of a window. I think the rectangular table looks disproportionate now though. Can you try the round table in its place (leaving the floor lamp where you have it)?

Hmmmm, I hate to rid of the rectangular table since I just refinished it in the grey wash to match the decor- and its so functional, ie, good height, shelves. Maybe a larger scale arc floor lamp would balance things better? Yes, there are windows behind the bench as they’re window seats my husband just built- here’s a frontal view of the room.

^ is the view from my kitchen- so the sides of my couch are seldom viewed head on- so I don’t think a stand up lamp on the right side would stand out as off balance to the couches left side ( rectangular table)

In my opinion, you can hang those frames on the left of the couch and get a plant on the other. Also if you place the artwork behind, a little higher it'll look better.

Have you tried the round table in front of the floor lamp? The difference in sizes between it and the rectangle table may be evened out. It looks fine from the kitchen though. That's a nice room.

I love the grey table, but proportionally it is a little awkward. Any table switching out you could do? Bold modern art need bold/simple modern accessories.

I dunno pink.... I don’t have ANY bold/simple modern accessories in the entire room. I think the colors and rustic natural frame of the art tied into the rest of the farmhouse/ cottage- esque look of the room.
