Installing ikea island/peninsula with cabinets back to back
Comments (9)Did you ever complete this? I have a 6 cabinet back to back island (3 each side) that i am having a nightmare of a time getting level or square. I did use the island kit. It was pretty simple and shouldn't be a problem. They are still pretty flimsy. but not as flimsy as those legs. and the wood block system sounds great until you have to try and screw it in the backside under the cabinets with legs in the way. unless you have 6 foot arms. We've been struggling with it for about 20 hours now and looking for another solution. I'm thinking of building a center spine out of 2 x 4 and hanging the rail system off of it....See MoreInstall custom wood drawers into IKEA Sektion cabinets
Comments (5)If the fronts and glides are specifically made for Ikea cabs, there should be no difference in installing them as Ikea's own parts. So, go to the Ikea website and find your drawer, low, medium or high. scroll down to "assembly instructions" and click on the choices. Below two Pdfs for medium drawers. (Look through both booklets from front to back , as everything depends on where in the stack the drawer is going to be installed, if it's going to be an inside drawer or regular outside drawer etc. It helps to understand the system, before starting to assemble. Comments (7)Blubird is obviously anxious that the standard American P-trap is absent. If the space saving siphon meets local code and was installed by a licensed plumber and passed inspection then all is well, but I'm pretty sure that this install would not meet code where I live....See More- 4 years ago
