Need fixture help for vaulted ceiling over kitchen table
Comments (1)Our kitchen has vaulted ceiling also, but not that high over the table, so we have a hanging fixture. We have a recessed light that illuminates the other side of the kitchen, where the ceiling is pretty high. It provides ambient light to that side of the room, but if our table were under it, I don't think it would throw off the right kind of light. If I were you, I would reconsider putting a hanging fixture over the table. If you're concerned that a 14-foot chain might not look right, go to a good light fixture store and browse through some catalogues. You'll get good ideas on how to deal with your issue....See Morelight fixture over kitchen table
Comments (4)Wow--you all are fast! The style is pretty contemporary, but having said that, I don't want anything that looks super modern or "techie" (if that makes sense). And I'm looking for something with 2 or 3 lights, not a single round fixture. Thanks for all of the ideas teacats--the 3 light one is almost what I want......See MoreCan lighting vs fixture over kitchen table
Comments (2)Not at all! We do it all the time. For busy families or families planning to stay in the house for a long time and likely transition over the years, we actually almost always suggest NOT doing a main light fixture. We find that it limits the space to only allow for one function. If you do the can lighting, you can transition that space to be exactly as you need it! Good luck, post pics when it's done, would love to see it!...See MoreNeed help with lighting fixture ideas over island and sink
Comments (12)I love the look of the glass pendants, but when I went to the store all of the pendants were dusty or the glass was cloudy. Which made me think of how often I would have to wash these pendants since we do a fair amount of cooking. I did find another pendant, which is not see through but does incorporate the chrome look. Once they are in I will need to figure out if they will all be at the same height or if the middle one will be higher. Thanks to all and I will send pictures once they are in....See MoreRelated Professionals
