My first 4 years of school were spent in a one-room school. I loved it! The teacher would sometimes call off afternoon classes so we could all be outside raking leaves, making snow forts, etc. The inked-out part is just the name of the town.

@jrb....I'm "head" landscaper for my gated HOA. It's a whole city block of green lawn, trees and flower gardens at three entrances. I have a hired crew, we pay $56K a year to mow, edge, fertilize...but the rest....is ALL me....and my husband is a big help keeping the sprinklers repaired. ❤️

gaz...that is cute! What kind of bird is that?

Summer.....last week I found a GSD standing in the middle of the street. I befriended her, she came on my run, did 5 miles, then I didn't know where to return her. :0) (She had an invisible fence collar on, battery was dead) Had to look up the owners name on the tax assessor site to find them. I miss having a GSD of my own. They are just soooooooooooo special!

It's about half a mile down the driveway to the mailbox.

Drewsmaga - what a nice thing to say. Thank you. That's our get-away place in northeast PA. We bought 135 acres of woodlands 25 years ago, built a vacation home and then put it into a conservation easement so that it can't ever be developed. My husband says it is what has kept him sane from the stress and demands of work and life near a big city. It's a beautiful sanctuary - quiet and private - just us and the woodland creatures. We can almost feel the tension melt away every time we head up the driveway.
