homepro, I meant these long threads holding the curtain...they're might be easily made, and it might be easy to reinstall rods/tracks, but as someone less able in all things handy, I have this mode of thinking "so how I'll get from this to that". You know Winnie the Pooh? that's the point when my inner Piglet manifests himself:) But I'm in love with that look. I agree by the way with some previous posters that very bold shower curtain(and I'm usually crazy about them as some might remember), in this case, might be less beneficial for the space. I looked at white plus texture but they somehow seemed a bit wrong, at least the ones I saw. They also were expensive as I'm also good at posting expensive stuff:) ah, and Maureen, Turkish towels ARE really nice...I have only one by now but am very impressed. sylwia, art-should be something you like:) By the way. if you decide to go with wallpaper it doesn't mean you can't hang art too it's hard to suggest art without knowing the person and what he loves, but many sources irl and online..tell us if you need links..my cheapest finds were from vintage and thrift stores, garage sales, eBay and Etsy, also arts and crafts local festivals. You can even use postcards you really like ..I made a gallery wall of sorts once with clippings from especially beautiful winter edition of some magazine..and it was for the bathroom..I used similar slightly different frames in different sizes. or you might have something in your home already that you love. I really love ceramics so I use them on walls too. Which reminded me. There are very pretty ceramics in white...soft white..would look amazing if you paint walls darker..now I just need to remember where I saw them. I think Etsy. I'll post them if I find them, you'll tell me if you like them

I love wallpaper and have it in most of the rooms in my house. Some of it has been there for decades and is still in excellent condition. Having said this, I have told my children that when they haul me out of here, dead or alive, to remove all the wallpaper before putting the house up for sale. People are terrified of removing wallpaper - think it will destroy the walls (if drywall and not properly primed, it might!), or will cost a fortune to remove. So I told them to only leave the wallpaper in two bathrooms - both are done in a Farrow & Ball strie paper and they make the two baths. As to wallpaper and using it in a bath or kitchen. One is no longer limited to "kitchen/bath vinyl wallpaper. I chose a gorgeous french documentary paper for my kitchen when we were moving here in 1984. I was worried about using it as a backsplash in my kitchen (which is what one did in those days), and a rep in the Brunschwig & Fils showroom in LA, told me to just send it to ResistFlame in Cincinnati. They would coat it with vinyl and I'd be good to go. I did this and have done it many times since. One has a choice of matte finish (my choice) or glossy, and it can be single/double/triple coated depending on the wear/tear one expects it to have to endure. I've always done single coating and that has been fine. It is totally wipeable/scrubable with a Dobie pad. The company is so easy to work with - I usually just have the paper drop-shipped directly to them. They coat the paper and then ship it to me. It's really quite reasonably priced.

I love wallpaper in bathrooms but not this wallpaper. I say remove it. Most people have no imagination. So the wallpaper may just make them not see that is actually a nice bathroom. Sometimes removing it is a pain, sometimes it comes down easy. But people think it's hard so don't want to tackle it. Do it for them and paint it something that goes with the permanent fixtures of the room. If it is a vinyl as most bathroom, the top will come down in one piece. Then just spray with water to saturate the paper that's left over and remove. It will take time It needs to be wet. Beyond that remove the valance and your jewelry hooks. it will look so much better and appeal to more people. Since the glass is frosted you can remove the shutters or leave them for added privacy. They would be something a new owner could easily remove.
