Help me please - pick out a picture option to hang in kitchen
Comments (39)Uroboros5, Sail-away, Dianalo, FKS3: thanks for the charcoal vote. I will be getting that one reframed. Can't wait to get that done. I've been dragging my feet to spend the $. Pupwhipped, Love it-what you said about Cleveland. I am going to cut that sucker down. Michoumonster, thanks for the fish vote but I probably wont go with that one. I think the size is right. It needs remounting. The print is a little stiff for me in this room I think, and I don't like all of the white background. I must be leaning towards more color. Sochi, I love those darned poppies, I've had it hung in that location for years in my UGLY old kitchen and didn't care one bit that it was large. Then, the white frame was ok because there was other white in the room. But now I agree that the frame is wrong. I don't know if the print would survive a reframing. Stacey, thanks for the tips and I will watch that Youtube video. I have been thinking I could even see if I could get a set of "paintings" out of the one. That might be too much. A simple single might be best with this print....See MoreMajor Disappointment With Pella Windows and Doors - Caveat Emptor
Comments (204)@Ronnie Hossain Pella was sued and settled the case for Pella ProLine casement, awning, or transom window which were manufactured between January 1, 1991, and December 31, 2009 (“Pella ProLine Casement Window”) As @millworkman said, most issues people having is improper installation, and for every complaint, we address when it comes to newly installed windows or doors or anything else for that matter 90% of the issues are related to improper installation or flashing applications, etc. Not sure what happened in your case since you didn't say what issues you experienced yes some company representatives do try to point the arrows at the installers but most of the time they're right because not many follow the manufacturer's guidelines and not only when it comes to windows I see that with backer board installations, with composite decking installations, etc. That being said, I'm not defending Pella window manufacturer, I never used Pella and never suggested using them, just telling you based on my general experience... If you take the best product out there and you do not follow the manufacturer's minimum installation requirements there will be issues. Good luck...See MoreBacksplash for My Yellow Kitchen.. Comments (28)Fishies - I LOVE that big, white tile you're holding up with your french manicured hand! The colour looks luscious, and it looks like tin, except white. 'Tin' is probably not '50's vintage' but it's kind of cottagey, so we're on the map. In my mind's eye, I can super-impose that tile onto your inspiration pic, and it looks good, so I figure it'll look good in your kitchen. I also like that the size is a little bigger than you'd expect. How does the colour compare to your original tile? How does it look with the marble? I guess making sure it matches the marble is key. Your kitchen will be predominantly yellow, brown (wood counter), off white, and greyish white (marble). I think it could handle a textured backsplash like the ones your showing us. (Sometimes I get bogged down with your accessories and fabrics, and I have to remember that those are just small touches against the larger backdrop of yellow, white, greyish-white, and brown.) I don't like the marble mosaic idea because it's lacking the 'cute cottage' feel. White is plain, plain, plain. It's not like you're doing a multi-coloured backsplash....See MorePLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS...
Comments (27)Doreen, I'm with you 100% on monochromatic color schemes and weaving them all together. Forget the naysayers who think you need pops of color. They will never get it. With monochromatic schemes, texture becomes so important. This is why your dining room works well but your living room not as much so. I can see what you were going for here with the living room rug but don't think it works in the end. Here's what I would do: 1. Remove curtains. Sounds like you have already. 2. Different rugs in living and dining room. Have them be textural - jute, sisal, fluffy, just textural. 3. I love the chair that has a plaid pillow and another more contemporary pillow together. Keep your plaid pillows - they are great, just mix them up with others like the one on your chair. 4. Much bigger new coffee table to bring the space together. Again, bring in another texture here or reflective surface. I would avoid the black iron look though. 5. Your walls might feel naked without the curtains. Be sure to re-center the picture to the right of your glass doors so it is centered on the entire space between door and windows. 6. Pull the sofa and chairs out from the wall. Have the feet on the rug. Your walls will become more of a backdrop this ways and the attention will be focused on the seating area. Show us more pics!...See Moretatts
