Will I not like the rest?

Like most TV shows there are some seasons that are stronger and more developed than others. I watched the entire run and enjoyed it. I loved Downton Abbey too - I could have watched it just for the fashion and architecture.

I'm saving Shetland for when my boy comes home this winter. Still cogitating over the upcoming binge session? Not 100% decided

I liked Mad Men very much. Absolutely binge worthy, imo.

I don't know if you're OLD enough for Mad Men, rob. <smile> It was especially entertaining for my DH and me because we 'knew' those characters. DH was in advertising/public relations.

We are currently watching Season 3 of Six Feet Under -- missed it the first time around. Some great writing and acting. (I could do with a bit less gay emphasis, but that was probably 'edgy' when the series was made.) We watch one episode a day for our Teatime Matinee.

I wouldn't go for anything hysterical. Abdominal surgery and laughter are a painful combination.

I loved Mad Men. I binge watched it and loved how authentically it was set in the 1960's. Not overdone with wardrobe, music or furnishings.

We love Mad Men so much we just finished watching it for the second time. It's the type of series where you can't wait to see the next episode. It's not a complicated plot like some detective series so you can have to watch it when you're getting a little sleepy and not miss some important development.

Other series I could binge--Bates Motel, Fargo Seasons 1 and 2, and Justified.

Currently in a binge with Mad Men. We love it because of the 60's furnishings. First few episodes make you cringe because it is so un PC, but since I worked in that type of setting decades ago, I relate.

Mad Men is great! Also Downton Abbey. You can't go wrong with either choice. I haven't heard of Shetland.

Outlander is great for binge watching too if you have it.

I tried watching Mad Men because of all the hype about it, but found it so over the top cliche' that it seemed a parody. It never grabbed me at all.

I've never watched it. I saw a trailer for "American Gods", Sci-Fi and think it looks entertaining.

Mad Men is eminently binge-able. A great story with some remarkable performances, and excellent production values. The entire series finished without our watching; then I ordered the first dvd from Netflix and that sat on the coffee table for several weeks. Then we watched a few episodes and were hooked!

Same thing with Game of Thrones. Went through the entire ten years and never took a look, despite the brouhaha, until near the end of the last season. I'd always disliked fantasy, medieval stories, clanging swords, etc. I tried an episode, thinking "I'm going to hate this", but no, I loved it, albeit with my fingers over my eyes much of the time! (It's very violent) IMHO nothing can surpass it.

Loved Mad Men. Cringe at some parenting, such as a 10 year old serving as bartender making and serving cocktails.

I loved Mad Men and binge watched it all. I remember the 60's so well as it was when I came into adulthood. I was also slightly obsessed with Jon Hamm. He's from St Louis and went to the same private school as my godson and his brother (Jon was in the class between them). I knew his prom date, actress Sarah Clarke's mother very well in the Junior League and the mother was also a sorority sister of one of my daughter's closest friends in KY (both went to Univ of KY). He practically lived at the Clarke's house.

Definitely binge-worthy; I loved it.

i watched Mad Men twice and was on my 3rd goround when i was interrupted. It's a fabulous show with a lot of food for thought. The other bingewatch would be Downton Abbey. I watched BOTH of them long after all the series had been completed, either with netflix or DVDs!

I was catching it regularly on one of the channels and enjoyed it. I haven't watched it from start to finish, but it's on my list. It's a great snapshot of recent history, for sure.
