I don't know why I didn't make the MCM connection, duh. I thought that was strictly 1950s styles, but it makes sense that it would carry forward and inform the 1960s styles. There were some missteps this season, but I thought the ending was brilliant in that Don creates the famous Coke commercial. Despite the retreat , dabbling in TM, and his breaking down in the therapy session, none of his epiphanies have ever lasted long and this one won't either. In fact, it's over pretty darn quick when he's meditating on the beach and he's not thinking about his kids, his screwed up relationships, etc but instead the next ad campaign. He's not a changed man. He won't go back to NY and become a responsible father or find a mature, lasting relationship. He will continue to be a womanizer and drink to excess. His only success in life is his work. Sally becomes another tragic figure. She feels she must give up her life to care for her brothers. I think she will end up like Betty...cold and detached. Happy endings though....at least it looks that way.....for Joan, Peggy, Roger and Pete, although one wonders....has Roger really met a woman who can tame him or will he revert to his old ways? I thought it was a great ending but am still in mourning....I miss it already!

I thought it was a thoroughly enjoyable series and I'm really disappointed that Amazon didn't renew it. However it is being shopped so perhaps we'll see it resurrected at some time. It is based on a true story. Lynn Povich (who was part of the suit) wrote Good Girls Revolt: How The Women of Newsweek Sued Their Bosses and Changed the Workplace. I happened to pick it up one day while waiting for my friend because I thought the title was intriguing.

Trish, I keep forgetting to let you know I did some research on the feline renal failure sites my vet referred me to, and found that phosphorus binders are not necessary if they're on a therapeutic kidney diet, which she is. The binders are used if the cat won't eat prescription food. Daisy's numbers are good and she eats her prescription food. So far, so good. That will likely change as we progress into this awful disease. I'm glad it was helpful for your puppy.
