Should I use glass or recessed curtain track for this shower?
Comments (31)Hoping not to take this thread too far off topic but since the issue of keeping shower glass clean is being discussed.... Our master bath glass shower has been in use several times daily for the past 9 years. With minimal effort it is as pristine today as it was 9 years ago. We squeegee after each shower but when I clean the bathroom I occasionally wipe over the glass with wet SPENT dryer sheets. A quick rinse and the glass is sparkling! I confess I polish all my glass, windows, mirrors etc. with crumpled newspaper for a really good finish, and I do this after cleaning the showers too. Very quick, great results. Lizbeth-gardener I encountered the same problem when I was helping my brother prepare the house he had just purchased. The shower glass was almost opaque with hard water and soap scum. Nothing would remove it until in desperation I tried liquid toilet bowl cleaner (I prefer Sno Bol), wiped on with a cloth and rinsed well !! If you try it be careful, read the cautions on the container, test a small area and use gloves, that stuff is caustic! It worked really well for us and the glass became clear again....See More$3 Stained glass panel. Does it go in MB? . PIC...
Comments (13)That piece of stained glass is gorgeous as is. Painting what is a lovely piece of stained glass would be a crime. you'd end up with what looks like a plastic immitation. It would certainly go with all the vines on your bed Frame, and color of the glass's frame is close to the color of your bedframe Your room and decorating colors are mostly neutrals and it would add a splash of color. If you really don't like it then sell it but please don't try to paint it and destroy it. You may have paid $3 but it is worth more that that...See MoreBlinds vs Curtain for Doors with Divided Glass Panels
Comments (4)Thank you very much for your reply, nhb22. Sorry for my late reply. I am leaning toward using curtains instead of blinds. Do you find that your blinds get in the way of your door handles? How wide are the slats? Mine are 2 1/2" wide and it seems that a 1" or 2" width would allow better clearance for the door handle....See MoreShould my shower curtain and window shade match?
Comments (8)Sheeisback- thanks. I love the idea of coordinating with a trim. Something about matching was making me pause.. Nancy- thank you. The countertop will almost certainly be some type of solid surface in an almost white color. The floor tile I’m considering is honed, and I’m not a spotless, shiny surface type of person, so etching doesn’t bother me at all. I feel like the beauty of marble can handle imperfections here and there; I really am into surfaces that look used! But on the other hand, an obvious stained area near the toilet does sound horrible! All that said.. I don’t hate the idea of porcelain, but I can’t find any marble look in a small mosaic like I want; either basketweave or this octagon and dot. So if I decided against this it would be plain white small mosaic of some kind, most likely. And I love the look of the marble with cherry vanity as in my first pic in the op....See MoreJessica R
