The Not-So Brady Bunch
Comments (11)Walking away is not the answer. Why is it so easy to stay in a relationship when it is all rainbows and lollipops, and when it gets rough and you find yourself in the trenches everyone bails? Stress- It is true Officers and First Responders are under a lot of stress however, it is part of the job to be able to leave it when your shift is over. I am married to a LT Fire/Rescue. His Mother- the only thing you need to be responsible for is caring and loving your Fiancee. Be respectful but do not be so hard on yourself for her lack of being involved in a nice way, you cant control ones way of being. Children- You are correct children do come first. My advice is for him to call his EAP set up some " free" counseling for your family( sometimes 6 visits ) a good start..There you can talk freely about your children's feelings and his feeling's towards not having his around. Acknowledge his frustration with the ex and lack of seeing his child, tell him this is a season in his life, he will get through it with you by his side. I know it is hard to so called " clean up someone else's mess" but faith matters. I wish you luck...See MoreMore exterior light fixture advice
Comments (4)Thanks! They are Kichler lights. I think I will get the same size as what I have now as I think the size is good just not the style. There are two lights by the garage, the one hanging light by the front door and four lights in the back of the house. They are different sizes but the new ones come in about the same sizes....See MoreHGTV buys Brady Bunch House
Comments (28)I think that's an oxymoron. I'm guessing it'll be mostly MCM. It's hot right now and could meld well with 70s decor. As a child of the 70s, I remember brown/gold patterned sofas, Avocado and Harvest Gold in the kitchen, double doors, swag lamps, console TVs and brown paneling being "hot" in my childhood. I hope it's not a Property Brothers project. The network owns the house, right? I wonder if they'll do it as an all-HGTV cast project ... maybe one franchise gets to do the kitchen, while another group works on the living room? I don't understand the hoopla... the inside of the "house", which was all stage set, is what people remember. Whatevs... Yeah, but that interior house never really existed, whereas this house -- even if it's not the weird staircase and the orange kitchen -- does exist and can be used as a money maker. It's cheap enough content for HGTV. What was the house going for? Less than 2 mil? They can create a whole year of specials around it. Oh, you know they ended up paying more than that for it, but it's still a drop in the bucket for them. Yes, they'll make a ton of specials around it. Wait, wait -- I know exactly what's going to happen! This house will be the HGTV Dream House in 2019 or 2020. It'll be a remodel instead of a new build....See MoreMy Brady Bunch house...
Comments (52)What did you decide? We bought a Brady-ish house, too, circa 1976. We ended up replacing most of the trim because it wasn't as nice as your honey oak--it was rough orangey cedar that wouldn't really sand or take paint. It did make a big difference! But yours is nicer. You could probably live with the trim for a while and then see, or maybe just look at painting the random bits of trim that aren't on windows/doors (like the one on the living room half-wall) to minimize it. If you want to have a big impact, replace the railing with something sleep and metal. It will change the entire look and make a great first impression. We're in the middle of doing that (the railing was unsound anyway) and replacing the carpeted stairs with partly-open stairs as well....See MoreAnna IE
