Gladiolus corms provide virtually everything the plant needs to sprout and produce bloom stalks. You surely can kill them (rot) by overwatering. Since you've watered after planting as recommended, leave them alone... ... then, water plants during the summer if rainfall is less than 1 inch per week. Be prepared to stake them once bloom stalks appear. The flower stalk is heavy and they tend to fall over. You can mitigate that by planting them a little deeper than they recommend and also much closer together than they recommend. They are more attractive planted in bunches rather than in soldierly marching rows.

Yes.Common name windmill palm.I agree with other 2 posters.Windmill can be grown in sun or shade.In hot weather it does better in some shade.Beautiful tree.If you really want to move,I would not-I would hire someone that knows how to do it.50/50 if it will take.

We've got bunnies like jumping jacks on the fourth of july here lol. I ordered some chicken wire from Home Depot but there will be at least a two week delay to receive it. In the meantime potted up my trees in native soil. I'm super happy with the trees that I got so far. Here's a photo of the pond cypress roots. Look good? I got it from The Jonsteen Company. It has green growth on top starting. So does the bald cypress but harder to see. The bald cypress trees came from an Ebay seller are bigger and better than I expected for the price. They have much more roots, fine and stubby thick ones at the base too. I'm slightly worried that my zone 6 might be too warm for the 2 American Larch trees coming soon.

growing hosta in the heat of the day in GA ... and them not scorching to ugly ... tell me what?? .. lol ... he watered a lot ... its really hard to figure out ambient light versus direct sun ... i have grow some conifers in the north side of my house.. and the only direct light they got was near dusk and after dawn .. minis ... they did fine ... because it was open sky above ... it was rather what might be called bright shade ... and i did grow hosta i the same place ... in my MI ... if all other variables are just peachy for your zone 7... [see what i did there..lol ] ... then i suspect you might have more success than you worry about .... but you are probably just going to have to try it ... and roll the dice ... its very hard for anyone to give you spot on advice in your garden in your shade in your GA ... on any definitive basis ... now all that said ... i have had problems in my high humidity hog heat summer MI with various types of very congested pines ... and that might be what junkie was thinking about ... when he made suggestions that werent pine based ... you can overcome some of the pine issues by cleaning them out religiously .. which i never did ... someone else will be able to tell you the name of the disease issue ... maybe plathoforujurasik or something like that .. pretty sure it begins with a P ... but after that.. lol ... soo ... just give it a try ... and try things other than pine ... and become your own local expert ... never stop trying ... ken
