Ivona -- I think the type of soil and your climate has a lot of say in its aggressiveness. Loam with plenty of rain vs. dry clay.

We have rock and clay. Yes, we did have quite a bit of rain this year, tho.

I had a surprising lover of clay soil- the tropical heliconia. It was barely subsisting in a container and I planted it in full clay soil. Boy, did it take off and start blooming. It does spread by rhizomes and needs lot of space if you are so willing . The blossoms are amazing .
