Comments (40)I love the room cashet posted with the blue L shaped sofa - the difference in that room is that both sides of the sectional have a window adjacent to see/look out of....your room would have the sofa backed up to the window and while it might look ok from the rest of the room, when you are sitting on the sofa, all you would see is the wall with the pew on it instead of your beautiful windows. And I'll bet there is a fireplace or tv opposite the blue sectional, too. So consider, not only how the couch will look against the window (it might be lovely) but what you'll see when you're seated. I'd much prefer to look out the windows than have them to my back, but maybe that's just me :-) But if you do like that arrangement best, consider a large mirror on the pew wall, to reflect the view from the windows....See MoreI just moved into a new home I need living room decor ideas
Comments (5)I agree, there is not much to be said without more pictures, but looking at what we have, and not knowing the size of your starbust mirrors, I think you could hang them to the right of the TV to fill up approximately the shape I've indicated below. Second point, look for a striking rug that has a similarly natural, organic feel. It could continue your neutrals theme or introduce colour, but I'd definitely go for some kind of organic pattern -- not a geomatric design. I've just come across this one and I love it. https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Hand-Knotted-Roth-Abstract-Pattern-Hemp-Rug-5-x-8/9912730/product.html?refccid=CPCHMYDRCEE2WRKCR4625KZO2Q&searchidx=337&keywords=&refinement=material%3ANatural%20Fiber...See MoreNeed help living room layout and decorating
Comments (8)Nothing goes on those high shelves unless you have museum quality sculptures, Do I spy a door in the right niche? If so, can it be moved? The art on the mantel is the wrong orientation. Try turning it longways and remove all the other stuff on the mantel for now. If you want to know about furniture arrangement and what other furniture to buy, then you need to give us photos from all four directions....See MoreHelp with Living Room Layout, New Couches, Decor (everything)
Comments (15)You have two nice features; the fireplace and the brick wall, plus a nice bit of light. Painting those dark blocks outside white will enhance the brightness and look cleaner overall. Then paint your walls that taupe/greige of the mortar on the brick wall. I think that color will work well with the fireplace too. Try two 3-seat sofas and two swivel chairs in a "U" in the middle of the room. The swivel chairs will close the bottom of the "U" and can turn to the fireplace or the piano. Be careful not to buy big puffy oversized seating. Your rug may work fine. Replace it last. I don't see any electrical outlets for lamps, but you need some. A chandelier on a dimmer will work for your ambient lighting, but you need task and accent lamps too. Shop for a piece of art 75% as wide as the piano to go 5" above it....See Morehousegal200
