Need living room layout, decor help
Comments (20)Have to agree that wall mounting the tv is probably your best bet. Do you have plaster walls? I can't tell how old the house is from your pictures. Fishing cables through plaster walls can be difficult. However, there are cord covers that you can use to cover the cables on the wall. They can be painted to match the wall color. And if you Google a bit, there are a lot of creative ideas on how to hide all the tv cables out there. I'd do a bit of research first, to get the wall mount that will work best for you, and to figure out the easiest way to hide all the cables. If you don't want a rug, and I don't blame you, those floors are sure pretty, think about doing something else to help "furnish" the room. I could see a large plant on the wall with the tv, or a bookcase for display. I think if you can find something else for that wall, in addition to the tv, it will make the room seem more fully furnished....See MoreNeed help living room layout and decorating
Comments (8)Nothing goes on those high shelves unless you have museum quality sculptures, Do I spy a door in the right niche? If so, can it be moved? The art on the mantel is the wrong orientation. Try turning it longways and remove all the other stuff on the mantel for now. If you want to know about furniture arrangement and what other furniture to buy, then you need to give us photos from all four directions....See MoreHelp with layout and decorating open Kitchen/ Eat in Area /Living Room
Comments (5)I would move the sofa off that wall and make the long end of the sectional be parallel with the kitchen peninsula, so the sofa faces the sliders on the long side. I would get a rectangular dining table to go in between the living room area and the dining kitchen area. The wall with the high windows could use a bookcase, or a console table, a lamp and some colorful art. Some large plants would be good too. You have great light and need some more contrast in your color scheme. See about a stronger color rug and throw pillows if you can. It's a lovely room....See MoreNeed advice on living room layout and decor
Comments (5)@ Rachel H We've created a layout for you with approximate dimensions from the pictures. So many options for colors that would work with those cushions and that rug! Warm tones of coral/ rust or even mustard would brighten up the room. Once you choose the colors on your chair you could add pillows that reflect those colors. You could place a couple of ottomans that can be moved around wherever required. As @My House says, you could add a slim console table and art/ Mirrours to the long wall by the door and create a nice looking entryway! We have made you another layout here. You can add or replace furniture and move them around to create your own layouts in interactive 3D designs here and also render your own photorealistic images here!...See MoreCor
