Brown, brown, and more brown! Please help
Comments (10)Brown brick is perfect for making landscapes with red, pink, orange, white, and yellow flowers pop. If your house has gutters, get rid of the bushes. If you do not have gutters, trim the bushes back a little, and create a plant tier (bush, tall flowers, short flowers). Consider hanging flower baskets for the front of the garage filled with a variety of morning glories and impatiens; white marble chips, light mulch or river rock for the beds around your house, and bright colored flowers that thrive in your growing zone. Avoid GRAY rocks for your house, they will look drab next to the brown. However, large light brown river rocks or sandstone would be beautiful accents. Avoid tall grasses in your flower beds - they will make your house look short and crowded. Avoid burgundy, maroon, and dark purple flowers if you can. If you must have them, use them VERY sparingly....See MorePlease help choose exterior trim colour for 1960 cream brick veneer

Comments (9)well, that's baloney. if the cabinets are prepped/primed and painted properly, they should last just as long as factory painted. I'm having mine sprayed with a pre-cat lacquer. does your quote mention how they prep and paint? if you want to reface, that's a great option as well. I would NOT go w/home depot or lowes because they gouge you w/the prices. contact a local cabinet maker and refinisher if doing that. have you thought about doing a tile floor? something large like 24x24 or 30x30 tiles? basalt would look great. its a deep charcoal or a porcelain but, they do have some decent looking laminate. this is Coretec. or polish your cement slab and of course Fla is famous for those terrazzo tiles as for the brick, I think it depends what else you will be doing w/the kitchen. if painting them white, and doing the floor in something lighter, then I think you could do a lime wash on your brick and paint those cabinets next to it. (you could do a diff color on those instead of the white) look at Romabio for your brick...See MorePlease help with creamy white exterior paint plan and limewashed brick
Comments (14)Hi Beverly, Here are some more pics I took of the house. The way it is situated on the lot, mostly you see the tall garage from the street. I took another angle so you could see the entryway too. The front door is new, so I haven't stained it yet. I plan to do so after the painting is done. Patricia, thanks for your advice! I am new to the PNW, so it never occurred to me that a white house could look dirty and mildewy, but that does make sense. I like the look of limewashed brick, so did not think it could potentially devalue my property. These points are definitely some things I will need to think about. Thanks for your pic too, the house color of your pic is nicer than my current house color. But I have never been a fan of green houses. Are there other colors that work with reddish brick? My current house color feels very dark and heavy given the constant cloudy days. I would love to achieve a light and airy coastal feeling, if possible. I would love suggestions. My painter got delayed because of rain here, so I have a few more days to decide on colors. thank you!...See MoreSylvia Gordon
